    You can only get a maximum of 3.5GB RAM or so on a 32Bit OS. 64Bit allows much more. In example, a Macintosh can have up to 32GB RAM.

    OSX are run under the Macintosh platform, which is x64, so yes.

    However, there is ways to crack it to run it under a normal PC. http://osx86project.org for details.
