Why is murder wrong?

Assuming your stance on the subject is "right", I don't see how you can justify taking one's life and thinking that it's not a wrong thing to do, when you should be rotting in jail somewhere.

You'd still be ending their life. But that's context, this is focusing solely on the concept of murder.

You've obviously been brainwashed. Try explaining why it's wrong to murder... if you don't question the things in your life, you'll remain ignorant.

And as I said before, he isn't saying murder is right, so don't assume that. He is hinting that murder may be neither right nor wrong, for those things may not exist.

I think self-defense is classified differently than murder.

Agreed. Of course.
If you're protecting yourself, from someone trying to fuck you up, then you deserve to have the right to protect yourself, rather than doing nothing.

Cruel...It's Van Jens from way back in FGF.
You still owe me some Kates Playground man.
Anyways. Why is murder wrong?
Life is a gift to everyone, and everyone should be entitled to live it to it's fullest without deliberate interference or endangerment from others.
When you end another persons life, you're taking away that gift.

The answer is pretty obious..
Its wrong!
You shouldn't take other peoples life cause you feel like it.

haha, keep dreaming.

And why should people be entitled to that?

You believe people have rights? Everything a human dose is basically based on living. You don't want to jump off a bridge, why? because you will die. Get hurt, you could die somehow. If a individual wants to live, why doesn't he have the right to? The answer you are seeking is not complicated, Because its their life, not yours.

You believe people have rights?
Not inherently. What gives them rights?

Why don't I have a "right" to end their life?
Where did this right to life come from?
Because it belongs to them? Why is it wrong to take things that don't belong to you? Because it's dishonest? Why is it wrong to be dishonest?
This is what I've already address and you've failed to understand. This is pretty much questioning morality. It isn't complicated because you aren't thinking.

To me, this is actually a pretty easy question, but there's corruption in my answer - No man should be allowed to have the power to take another's life away. It's savage, really :(
But then, there's wars, hunting, etc. Therefore, my answer isn't that strong. But still, people shouldn't be able to take other's lives away. That's too much power.

I believe murder is wrong because your taking someones soul away.

Interesting idea. What is a soul?

Soul
- noun 1. the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part.
2. the spiritual part of humans regarded in its moral aspect, or as believed to survive death and be subject to happiness or misery in a life to come: arguing the immortality of the soul.

Eh, if you believe in Creationism, that you aren't necessarily taking someone's "soul away." You're basically taking their privelage to live on our Earth away.

Haha, this is SFA. You can't get answers from dictionaries. You have to use your head. :'(
I love it when people ask questions like "What's the meaning of life?" and people reply with:

n. 1. The state that precedes death and follows birth or conception.

-_-

Well, does that make sense?

Life is biochemical/electrical.
Feeling, or emotions, are based upon certain chemicals.
Thought isn't known exactly.
Action is what we choose to do.

Now, if there was a nuclear blast nearby your house, and your body was literally vaporized, would your soul survive it?

Ya, if you believe in God, you believe your soul wouldn't die with your body.
And if you don't believe in God, would you not believe that the soul is some sort of metaphorical construct?
Or is there some sort of science to the soul?

Wait a minute, murder's wrong? =o wth since when?
