Why Is GP Rising?

Just wanted to know why GP is rising in price again.

 

Because bots are down IDK ? xD

i guess because bots are down and fagex has starting cleaning banks and this last one is just a guess

because bots are coming back ? people wanna try to sell it for higher cause when they come back it will drop back down to 40-43c/mil

but those are my guesses

 

I agree, the elimination of bots has led to a dramatic decrease in the supply for gold and items therefore increasing the demand.

 

That also raises the question to whether bots will come back.

bots are actually back but there not good scripted i dont think bots will be back for a very long time power bot said before xmas now after jagex probs will always be 1 step a head

 

Less supply in the economy, therefore a rise in demand in gold.
As a matter of fact, there's this correlation between resources/supplies and rares.

When resources/supplies go up in price, rares go down, as people get rid of rares to purchase resources/supplies. This might happen during bonus exp weekends or in high periods of activity where everyone wants to get some skilling done.

When resources/supplies go down in price, this means there's an abundant source of supplies, directing the price downwards since there's lots of "competition". However, this can make the price of rares go up, since every "seller" has large amounts of money now made from selling the supplies, and can therefore afford to buy a rare at a higher price. Since they have supposedly finish with their skilling, so they aim at nothing but rares.

Right now, all I can see is that potions are dropping in price, and that might speculate a rise in rares sooner or later in the future.

 

I'm guessing stock left over from the bot-nuke has been cleared. I've noticed quite a jump in the past 2 weeks.

 

The demand was sparked with the mass return of players to the game over the winter holidays.

 

It's a combination of many things already mentioned.

- Bot Update: Raw Materials increase in price, Rares decrease. CONSUMABLE ITEMS UP, PERMANENT ITEMS DOWN.

- GP Resets on Big Sellers

- Removal of dicing: Hosters were big sellers in the community. This constant flow of gold has been greatly reduced

Now add to all this that it's winter holidays. People have way more spare time, and demand goes up. So to conclude: Demand UP, Supply DOWN, big price increase
