Why doesn't anyone range in RS?

It all depends how you do it. Rangers tend to have better places for more $/hour. For pures at least.

 

I mainly bot. And ranging requires more materials, and more time to train [except chins]. Melee is just simpler.

 

i love range! i think its my favorite combat skill. gotta love full arma with dfs. I do agree its slow to train

ranging is very boring,unlike using magic,+if u were to train ranger i would rather train melee

 

well range just sucks in general costs money for ammo and for us worriars its free lol

 

• Ammo cost money.
• XP is super slow.
• Armor is ugly.
• Armor has low Defence for protection.

 

I range when I PK, doing massive damage with crossbow and good bolts

 

to all those saying range is too slow to train, its probably because your range is too low to hit decent in the first place, its that or your not willing to put some funding into the fucking skill. sure, it may cost more than melee but range reduces a hell of a lot of food to buy, along with better places to make cash, and some decent magic resistance. i'll defend range, because its a decent, well rounded skill. melee is useless when a ranger comes along with some of the new TT arrows *which no one has mentioned, and yes they're affordable aswell* so really, range is a legitimate skill to have in the high 90+ on any account, its useful.

 

I bot accounts up myself and the sling makes training range so much easier at lower range levels. But, as others have stated it's super slow xp unless you chin.

 

I don't do it on my main because I hate buying all the knifes for botting. Can be a pain in the ass to keep running back and forth.

Plus the buy limit on knives is only like 10k so it really is a pain.
