That thing was about 3D gaming, that applies to any OS.
You can't have an opinion about whether folders load fast or not. They do or they don't, and if you have a less than 10 year old computer they won't.
I am only arguing about that, because it is a simple example about performance. There is other reasons why I dislike Vista, and if you cared to read my posts before you posted you would know why I disliked Vista.
Plus, I do not have a 10 year old computer and they do, not all the time, but they still do. That is called research, or testing. I tested it and they can take a long time to open, so I disproved what you think. Thats your opinion not fact.
List the reasons that you think Vista is better than XP. I will list my reasons that I think Vista is worse than XP. Thats better than senseless arguing.
1)It is very different than XP. This is a problem because those who used XP for years, suddenly have to learn a whole shit load on how to do the same things in Vista that you could do in XP. I also think that doing many tasks in Vista are harder, and take longer to do than in XP.
2)It uses a whole lot of ram, much more than XP. This is hard for those who are moving up to Vista from XP, since they need to upgrade their computers, that may only be 1 or 2 years old. This can be costly, depending on what needs upgrading, and annoying since you need to send it in, or bring it to Best Buy or something to upgrade it.
3)There is not much special about Vista. A large amount of the advanced options are the same menus used in XP. In the jump from 98 to XP, there is a huge difference in most everything, and XP was much different than 98. Since Vista has a lot of the same things as XP, there really is no point in upgrading.
4)It has a bunch of stupid popups. One of the most annoying ones in UAC, which can be disabled but it is still annoying. Another annoying popup I can not seem to get rid of is one telling me to check parental controls for my guest account. I even deleted the account and they still popup.
5)The shutdown and startup speeds for vista are much slower than XP, even with my crappy looking vista. SP1 of course made them faster in general, they still take a long time sometimes.
6)The auto-updates on vista are annoying. I have had to system restore after updates a great number of times. Most of the time it is because Vista says I am running an illegal copy, which I am not. Its not much better than XP, because same thing would happen to me with XP too, but not as often.
7)The way they are marketing Vista, I think is manipulating people that do not understand computers. They are focusing on Parental Controls, Game Rating, Free Software that you can download online, and random people saying "OMG, THIS IS VISTA? ITS SO GREAT!". I think its plain stupid and its basically lying to people about what Vista is.
I think 7 is good for now. I could think up a few more, but i am getting tired of writing. These are not in any particular order.
