Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

I am just wondering why it's possible to post in a thread of a banner user? By browsing the vouch section I noticed people are still vouching Oakdice but he is banned? Is there a specific purpose for this being possible or?

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

If a thread of a banned member is being continuously bumped and posted on still, I'm pretty sure you can report it and it'll be closed.

yeah, farcast is right. also, wow, farcast is back.

would kinda be nice if all banned users' threads auto-locked in market forums though. maybe post-xen?

Not sure how hard that will be to do coding wise :p but that would be a great feature indeed :D

I don't think this would turn out to be helpful, overall. Threads can be locked as necessary.

I feel like it would cause more trouble than anything to be honest. What if I was to get temp banned for spamming, then I'd have to bug someone to get all of my threads unlocked when I got back.

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

Yeah, generally the moderators should lock all of the market related threads when we ban a member, but well, sometimes I guess we get lazy. There's also only a few members who still continue insisting on vouches when they're banned.

Regardless, like said above, if you do see someone posting on one of these threads, just report it as normal. I saw the report about Oakdices Vouch thread this morning and locked it, so ya.

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

Would be cool if all market threads could get automatically locked but I doubt that would be possible, and what if they got unbanned in the future? Would be too hectic, just report the threads and eventually mods will get around to locking them.

Have an auto-lock feature on banned users will definitely be more work for the Mods. The system that they have currently is sufficient imo.

Oakdice's vouch thread was closed, I thought vouches were for trades that happened on sythe/because of sythe?

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

Why? Can't users still track their trades while they are banned? It's not like the trades aren't happening just because he isn't on Sythe atm. If anything it's just giving him a reason not to try to come back to Sythe because it's a pain for him to track everything now.

Vouches have no meaning, it's a 'free market' and it's up to you to classify what a vouch is or how trustworthy a vouch is unfortunately.

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

Any market thread should be closed when the ban is issued, but a vouch page should be left alone for multiple reasons.

A Sythe member was banned for scamming, now he has to prove himself to be legit during his pardon. Without a vouch thread it would be nearly impossible for him to do so. This is a prime example, I'm sure there are others but I've never been put in the position before.

Vouch threads should be left alone this has been discussed and decided upon multiple times.

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

I don't see it being super necessary. Not many market threads of banned users are often bumped or posted on post ban. You do see a few here and there, but not often enough to warrant this kind of feature imo.

Why can you post in a thread of a banned user?

Well clearly mods has taken a stance on this before with the banning of GFX vouches, so it's not exactly how you say it is. I know for the LOL boosting section, off-site feedback has to specifically be marked as such, and I think it's the same for other sections as well. I'd support some sort of feature like this, though understandably it wouldn't be very high on the priority list.

I don't mean vouches literally have no meaning, but I feel like the best way to keep the vouch system in place is to let the other party value the vouch. This is why we have ideas such as only allowing one vouch to be given during a MM'd trade denied, because at the end of the day, it's up to the other party to realize that those two vouches were from the same trade.

Then you have the whole, "Vouch for my main man XXXXXXX I would trade with this guy everyday", and then you have actual vouches with trade information and information relating to the trade. We have rules for what you can and can't vouch for, but valuing the vouch itself is kind of up to you in this system.

Bus is a perfect example. He has like 1000 threads he bumps daily. He would have had to wait around and bug mods to unlock all of his threads before he could get his business rolling again. I don't see how this suggestion would help anything, would just create trouble for users who get unbanned.

I actually had to bug blupig, time to buy, video, and superman.

Superman hooked up though but yeah, if u don't actually know staff on some level your going to be waiting until ur reported posts get done which could be 1-3 days.

This really isn't a good idea it would just be a hassle for anyone whos ever banned, trust me I know.

I think its a good idea, most posts on threads of banned people can be regarded as spam.
