Why are people so stupid?

Just sold my ags for 28M, bought it for 18M like 5 days ago, and it will be back down to 18M in a few days.

 

Its the typical economy my man. I bought and sold rares for like a year and made over 600M profit.

i know i bought like 50 whips when they were 4m each, and they dropped to 1m

 

Some people are just ultra lazy and can't be bothered to sit there and wait until there items are bought. They'd suffer if the GE was removed and we went back to the good ole way of trading outside banks. But to be fair, I do it myself. If I wanna go do a quest I often put my buying price really high, just cause I wanna get the item straight away.

 

People are obviously hoping they'll go up some more before they crash. I'm sure some of them will make a profit, alot of people won't though.

 

I think most people just don't care.

 

But they're all buying it just to look at for like 5 minutes, complete waste.

 

It's like buying a XBox or something. When it came out it was very expensive and people paid ridiculous prices for it. But now (after a while) it's very very cheap. People always want to witness something first.

 

That is also due to the new xbox models etc bringing the price down, hence why ags went from 100M to 18M, this is for the exact same sword with a slight new look lol.

 

I'm lazy like Brendan mentioned, If something isn't selling, I would put in a ridiculous price expecting a lot of money back in order to get a quick purchase. 10M loss on ags wouldn't bother me, it's like $4?

 

I think people are just lazy nowadays. But I myself used to be like that when I played RS. Similar to Brendan I used to put 10% more on the trade just to get it there and then so I could use it straight away...

I used to like the old trading system however before G.E was created. You could buy a fury for 10m. Go down the street (literally in Falador) and someone would be selling one for 6m... I guess you could call that stupidity but prices were un-stable it made the game more exciting. Yes admittedly it took longer to get what you were after but it did make the game more enjoyable, for me any way.

 

Um...what does that have to do with them suffering with the old way of trading, lol? They'd still just overpay to attract sellers anyways, if it's what they intended to do. About the only thing different is that it took more effort to buy bulk items because of them being spread out more among players rather than having one big central trade machine that makes it way too easy to hoard/manipulate(the G.E.).

I admit that I'm one of those kind of people, too, though. If it's a good amount of an item(s) I need, I'll only up the price little by little until I get a hold of them. However, if I'm looking for a single item at the time, I'll put in some crazy random number. Items that are usually less than 1k...I'll put in offers of 100k+, if the item costs 100k, I'll put in like a 1-5m offer.

People have always been lazy, it's Jagex's constant spoon-feeding now that makes it look more widespread.

 

It doesn't it have be that people are stupid lol... I used to buy stuff at higher prices all the time because I'd be in a rush, or doing a quest, or whatever the reason. And then I'd turn around and sell it at lower than what I paid for when I no longer needed it (never at a ridiculously low/high price though) because I needed the money quickly.
I never felt like there was any point (for me at least) to actually make an effort to be economically savvy on runescape.

 

Because if they need it and they offered let's say 18 or 20M no one will sell ^^

If you need ags or any weapon or armour you just buy it, no questions asked.

 

It's about a supply and demand, if someone needs an ags they're going to pay whatever they feel necessary to get one.

 

Its called merching lol, you cant really call they stupid its part of the eco

 

maybe the work of merching clans? 100 of ppl merching the same item at the sime time

 

I don't mean the merching etc I mean the fact it got a graphical rework sends the price up 8M?

 

Meh. Buy it, lose a few mill, go to the arena make 100M. when there's staking, little shit that used to be economical becomes overkill
