Why am i getting owned?

Well, basically i've come to the conclusion i fail at Pk'ing. I have yet get a kill in Pvp, i freaking fail.

50 Att
61 Str
1 Def
13 Pray
70 Ranged
63 Hp
70 Mage with Ancients.


I range/Maul, usually with MSB, and Rune arrows, sometimes with knives. I can't seem to get kills, and it's really starting to bug me. Is it because my Strength needs to be more even with my Range? I'd appreciate any tips for Range/Mauling

 

Heres a pking tip in general "Don't show off your tactic until you know you can get the kill" as in, Don't maul untill there health is low, wait some time so they dn't think you have the maul or a power wep.. Your stats are fine.

 

Swap the msb for some knives and a c'bow + keep the g maul switch.

They'll think you're a ranger.

 

So im going for more of a surprise? In my mind, i think i need to level out the Range/Str closer together for better K0's.

 

yes, Go for a surprise. make sure they don't know what you've got hidden under those knives+cbow. at a low level, mage is useful aswell!

 

Well, i guess. But its almost just better to stick with Range/Maul then trying to combine the three, as runes also take up 3 slots. Alright, ill try and go for more of a surprise then. Im also going to start SW'ing, should i use Zeals on Str, or for Ranged?

 

Get some zeals on str, till you make it about 65, then go for range. But make sure your range level is close to your strength --at most 5 levels away

And alright, i was hoping to shoot for more of a 2 level difference between range and str, range of course being 2 levels higher.

Everyone is on the right track you need to level your str a bit more with range and wait a bit longer to maul then you should be getting kills I also fail at pking lol Idk I just fail

 

D00m, not be a dick or anything, but it seems as you just somewhat spammed on a few threads in this section, please get off my thread.

 

Range is going to be your primary attack style, so I'd suggest getting it high but also keep your Strength close so you don't fall behind and become un-balanced.
As everyone else said, use rune knives/c'bow so they think you're a ranger and then when their health is slow, spec them with your g maul.

Here's a tip if you didn't already know:

When their health is low, right click your granite maul.
Not hit F5, it should take you to the combat styles and spec tab.
Now click 'wield' and quickly double-click the spec bar twice.

Using that method, you should rarely fail if you have higher life points before hand.

a little pking skill wouldnt hurt either. some ppl just werent meant to pk?

 

There's hardly a skill involved, it's merely clicking in the right place and knowing when do certain things and why. It's just a thought process of timing really, that's all.
But I suppose your correct in one respect, you must have some kind of skill for example fast clicking or accurate clicking or just having good co-ordination.

 

You can practice on Private Servers until you're decent and know what you're doing. It's cheap and fast.

 

Tbh, everything mentioned above, i have done. I think part of my problem is eating/safing. I tend to be a bit nice about it.

 

Tip 1: Get ur str to like 75.
Tip 2: learn urself the dbow/maul switch [4 hits a time]
Tip 3: Don't safe and just try and kill the other one.

 

Use super str, attack def , range potions, I use dragon darts, they are really effective, and when on low Hp, g maul, hit once then spec.
