Who Is Your Go-To Hero?

When you're loading up a ranked game, who do you instinctively go for first? When you're feeding your ass off and nothing if going your way in quick play, who do you switch to?

For me, I've been playing a lot of Soldier, Reaper and Lucio. The tank style doesn't really fit how I play the game, and I've gotten the maps down to the point where I enjoy playing both of these characters on both Offense and Defense.

After finding out how to wallride well (just bind jump to your scrollwheel) Lucio has turned into one of those characters that I can always turn to if I'm playing like total shit. I can basically travel from one side of the map to another without ever touching the ground. You can stick on objective points forever, just circling up around above everyone without them noticing, giving your team that extra 5-10 seconds to arrive to the point to defend..

 

Reaper and Lucio mainly, but have been picking up Pharah as wel, all fairly fun-to-play heroes.

 

Pharah is fun because you can land lethal hits from a long distance/great height. Soldiers and turrets can be a real pain though.

 

go for whatever the team needs, try to to main anything as thats normally how you lose, i really hate seeing people insta lock genji or windowmaker

This. There are times when your team literally needs specific players to counter your opponents. I'm always the guy that has to "take one for the team" and pick that character because everyone is going offense or defense or their "mains". It doesn't harm me in any way, if anything I usually play better than most people since I adapt to my opponents and team's needs.

 

I play D. VA every single game, it's what's the most fun for me, my team be damned. I can't imagine they'd want someone playing mercy who doesn't know which click is the heal anyway

 

Junkrat. 40 hours of him already with a 65% winrate, I think I do alright.

 

D. Va and Winston are the only tanks I don't play. I can't seem to get the hang of D. Va but there seems to be potential, while Winston I think is hopeless. Speaking of Mercy, she's my most played character, I love support

Junkrat can be super annoying when you're offense and he's defending, but I just can't ever see him doing well in offense. He's so easy to counter and has no good kill moves other than direct impact. Basically any offense, defense, or tank should be able to take him out if they know what they're doing while playing defense. If enemy teams counterpick properly, junkrat can be in quite a bind. What level are you?

 

I hate Winston's kamikaze playstyle and his corny ultimate. He's big and he gets in the way with his shield but I can't see how he would be fun to play. Dva is big enough to take on attack characters 1v1 and mobile enough to bother defense characters. I've never played as Mercy.

Junkrat is really only vulnerable to Pharah, but if you play him in an enclosed area, the other team won't be able to advance as long as Junkrat has a support character or healing nearby. You can pick up cheesy kills with mine jumps and trap combos too.

 

He's actually surprisingly good at sieging since you can be out of sight and arc his grenades over obstacles. I've picked up team kills before with his riptire too since people tend to stack on objectives -- after you clear the area you can run in and take it. I've had good success with him on attack as well as defense.

 

Highly recommend Mercy, easily the best "support" champ with regards to actually healing and supporting the team. If you're capping an objective and you've got a mercy on your team there's like no reason for you to die.

Yeah the riptire is absolutely insane when it comes to taking out people on objectives, but when you start getting matched up against people that are good it becomes almost useless. I like the fact that you can hear ultimates coming from basically anywhere so whenever I hear the classic "Ladies and gentleman, start your engines!" I can take out the tire before it reaches me. Idk I guess I can just counter junkrat really well so I've never seen him as a threat.

 

I absolutely blow at D.Va, but nothing is more satisfying than shooting your ult into the objective and picking up 4 instant kills.

 

You get a spray if you do that and the one time I managed to kill 4 ppl with it I got play of the game. DVA much fun

 

I've had a ton of fun trying to unlock all of the pixel sprays, they're all so unique and things that I don't actively try to do in my games. The Winston one has made me habitually check all of the ceilings everywhere for Symmetra turrets lol.

 

Always locking in Mercy every time I go into a ranked game. Then I just change according to the team's composition to either Lucio, Mei etc.

Got to admit, I love to let the team die together just to fly in for that 4x or 5x resurrection

 

I never play alone, usually in groups of 2-6 and I've pretty much been forced onto attack heroes. I mainly play Soldier and Pharah maybe some D. Va if we need a 2nd tank.

 

lucio is def a kick @ss player !

 

Genji and reaper is who i prefer to play on attack. On defence/control then zenyata or roadhog and sometimes reignard (cant spell it)
