Which operating system? Why?

Everything is basically designed for windows, so fuck the others.

There is a reason why everyone uses it over others.

 

You seem to have something against Vista, mind if I ask why? It is tenfold better than XP in terms of functionality, and Windows 7 is tenfold better yet again. Perhaps you're simply unfamiliar with it, or you just don't like giving up old technology.

 

Windows XP all the way i like keepin it old school but my friend said that windows 7 is great

 

I'd pick Windows 7 over XP anyday. It has a a lot of cool lil features, and looks a lot nicer. I've tried Ubuntu, but it didn't really appeal to me that much.

Windows, but just because that's the only operating system I have had. I currently have vista.

 

Windows 7, it's simply better with its reliability and looks.

Been using it since Windows 95 so yeah. Easy to use and the average user would know how to work it.

I know a little on Linux but I prefer Windows.

It's buggy.

The permissions stuff really gets me peeved, along with a lot of silly problems when I've been trying to network things together. It also doesn't run too efficiently...

Yea, I use it for now, but I look forward to making the switch to Windows 7.

 

Windows. It's a fairly simple operating system that allows you to do some more complex things.

 

I haven't encountered any serious bugs since service pack 1, and the ones I have I've experienced in other versions of Windows.

As for permissions, learn to set them up properly and you wouldn't have a problem. Vista was made to be more secure by default.

As for efficiency, the technology Vista uses is newer, hence it hasn't had as much time to be optimised. You can also disable features like SuperFetch (preloading memory) if you really want to, but I don't see why you would. It decreases overall loading time of frequently used applications, and people despite having increased general speed blame the OS for being slow when they run applications they hardly use.

 

I'm on Windows. In my opinion, it's the easiest and most basic operating system out there.

For simplicity and generally nice consistant GUI, OS X 10.5 Leopard. For more advanced things, Windows. Personally I really dislike the idea of any linux/unix distro on a desktop PC (inb4 lolmacisaunixbasedos), but for a server i'm all for it.
