Which of these is the better computer? *Please Help*

The sole purpose of buying this computer is for Runescape Botting (Primarily Nexus bots purchased from Rsbots.net)

Which of these three computers is better for botting, and how many bots do you think it could run with relative ease?

Also, what upgrade(s) are necessary if I want the computer to capacitate more bots?

    I would say computer one.
The i7 processor is amazingly blazing fast.
I have a few i7's right now and I haven't regretted it since.

Both computers look good, spec wise, but I would vouch for the i7 as I have 3 computers with i7 processors and they all run like a champ.

Computer 3 would be your best bet, Desktop FTW.

I'm not going to pro-con the specs because you're only running Runescape bots, as long as you have good cooling agents, minimise your CPU usage, and give it breaks you could run 10-20 bots easily.

Honestly, it is not worth $220 more. There is no noticeable difference between the i5 2500 and the i7 2600 as far as bots go. The only time you'll really ever notice more than a 1-3% difference in performance between the two processors is when you're doing like video encoding, in which case it still isn't a huge difference.

Computer #1 is better in that it has more RAM, but you could easily buy more RAM and install it yourself. Personally, I'd buy #3 and just buy a 8GB kit from Newegg.com (usually about $50-$75), and it'll be even better than #1 at like $100-$150 less.

edit: oh damn just noticed it's not the i5 2500, it's the i5 2300. Personally, I still don't think it's worth the extra $220 for the i7 2600. I would say build your own, tbh. If you're determined to buy a prebuilt, I still say #3 is the best value.

Build your own, none of them are worth it honestly.

You could even get your own parts and then find a local shop to put it together(would be something like $50) and it'd still be cheaper probs.

Bear it mind that the processor will not matter as much as RAM when it comes to botting, atleast to some extent. If we are talking i5/i7, 8GB RAM will get you atleast 10-15 without a problem (speaking from experience)

Probably at least 20, more than likely more though. I wouldn't be at all surprised at between 25-30, depending on which client you're using and which script you're using.

So I found out the i7 one I posted only has 2 memory slots and maxes at 8 GB DDR3

How many bots could I run on the following:

    Computer 1 (i7) with 8 GB DDR3

    Computer 3 (i5) with 16 GB DDR3

and if I upgraded the i5 to 16 GB DDR3, what other modifications would I have to do? (i.e. upgrade the graphics card/power supply)

Or could I just slap in 4x4 GB RAM Sticks and not have to worry about anything else?

I would go with the first computer but the RAM might be a problem... I have an Intel Core i7 2600 with 10GB that can run 30 bots before CPU is maxed before the RAM (almost maxed) while the cores temps are 65-69%. (Only bots open, everything else closed)

It really depends on the bot though.

    you don't know shit then.
vram on GPUs mean jack shit unless you're running 1440p/1600p or multi monitor displays.

Ontopic, you can just put it in, don't have to change anything.

22.5 Display I just purchased from TigerDirect, MIGHT be doing multi-monitor if it's too crammed.

So now the only question I really have left to ask is, which would be the better purchase?

    i5 + 16GB RAM
    i7 + 8GB RAM

the i5 comes with 2x4GB Ram Sticks, when purchasing the other 2 4GB RAM sticks, should I get the exact same one? (So all 4 are the same) Or does it not matter (2 from one brand, 2 from another)

Depends on the i5 and the i7. However, generally in botting CPU caps before RAM does. I'd get the i7 and allow the RAM to be upgradeable as your budget expands. Most mobos that fit an i7 have four 240-pin slots.

(By the way, PLEASE--don't tell me you're running this with Windows if it's only for botting.....)

VRAM actually does matter a lot even at like 1080p. That's why they started phasing out the 768mb model GTX 460s, for example. 768mb VRAM just simply can't push all the pixels at 1080p with decent AA/AF/texture settings. I'd say at least 1GB for 1080p gaming, ideally 1280mb/1536mb though. Compare benchmarks on any 768mb 460 vs the 1024mb version at identical settings at 1080p and you'll notice an obvious difference.

While I do agree that guy who said he needed a 2GB GPU is wrong I think making a claim like VRAM is useless is pretty absurd.. For botting purposes though, you could easily use something like a GT 430 and it would probably still be overkill. The iGPU on the Sandy Bridge / A-Series processors would be perfectly fine for botting/light gaming.
