Which is better to mine?

Coal or Gold ore?

Coal is 254gp each.
Gold is 196gp each.

However dont you mine gold faster? Thanks.

 

I think coal for money, and gold for xp :S

I did lrc to 85 mining on one of my accounts, but cant remember which ones I mined

 

Gold for xp coal for money.

 

Gold is overall better, sure you won't make as much GP but in the long term the quickness of gold will prove it's worth.

 

Gold is best for exp, and coal is best for cash, but i would suggest Gold as exp is goood and the difference in cash/hr is like 20k/hr max.

 

Coal is not better for cash. Theoretically, it is, but there's two factors to note:

1) It's slower to mine.
2) There are much less people mining it, and thus your odds of getting attacked/killed would be much higher.

 

Gold's better in exp and they're around the same, I think, for gold

 

There are alot less people at gold too, by the way.

 

Whichever has the least people doesn't really matter if u do it on the world where everybody kills the monsters. It's really crowded there

 

Why would you mine coal slower? It requires a lower level?

 

That's just how it work. Probably because it's a lot more valuable to the smithing skill than gold. But point 2 is the one that really make the difference between gold and coal.

 

I personally am mining both. The reason is that you are ALWAYS mining as opposed to waiting for a coal/gold ore deposit to show up. Also, it's better exp if you do both.

I've been botting for about 2 weeks and I'm getting loads more gold than coal.

 

That doesn't follow my experiments; I always got more money and exp/hour mining just gold instead of both gold and coal.

 

LRC Gold's the way to go.
