You say that, when the vast majority of clubs here in Plymouth sell it, and it's normally featured in the infamous 'Pound a pint' promotions.

It fucks people up because they consume too much of it, and too much of anything is a bad idea.

To answer your question, it all depends on the percentage of alcohol in the average and your alcohol tolerance level. Wine for example, contains more alcohol than most beer....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_tolerance

There isn't one particular drink that "gets you drunk the fastest".

But some drinks are more easy to drink, so you drink them faster. Also, alcohol can do more/less damage to you depending on other shit that in the drink (ie: sugar).

Sprite+Vodka. It's easy to put down is you mix it half and half so you get fucked up faster than, say, whiskey on the rocks.

If you really want to get hammered quick and cheap, go and either buy some Carlsberg special brews, or buy some bottles of lambrini and strawpedo them. This. I love Four Loko. I think it's really cost efficient, because I only really need about 1 and a half cans before I'm done for the night. A lot of the flavors taste like ass, but a few of them are great.

They have them stacked up in giant coolers in gas stations where I live, but I live in the southeast US so...

 

I'm a beer kind of guy, but I have always found that Dark Rum lands me upside down in a hurry.

That said I've always found beer to be more of an enjoyable drunk.
