Just came back to the community after a long hiatus.

This may not be how the thread works and please don't take this the wrong way, but how come you have a DNT?

Before I left you didn't have it.

 

I admitted to ban evasion ( the thread was public then hidden because I guess it was pretty controversial honestly I cannot remember the full reason why it was hidden from the public other than maybe people feeling embarrassed they promoted me to staff when a simple background check would have implicated me in rule-breaking). Not their fault though, only mine. At the end of the day I'm the one that broke the rules. My only surprise is punishment didn't come sooner.

Anyway, at the time I had a large loan out to boot which hadn't yet matured. Unfortunately since then life has been rough financially, barely living above the poverty line while still finishing school. I'm still paying back the loan (with interest as well once the original is covered) but up until now when my new job starts, I wasn't making anywhere near enough to afford rent, food, utilities, and paying back what I owe.

Mind you I always had the full intention of paying back my debts and pardoning traditionally but then the DNT system came into place out of nowhere.

Luckily I have recently gotten a full time REAL job that starts training in February. Not a bullshit minimum wage gig or barely paying internship, but an actual job with an actual salary. Honestly the entire situation was a disaster but taught me a lot about managing my money and not taking out loans I cannot afford.

If I need money I should have gone to a bank or gotten a credit card or something. The story is a lot more complicated than just hat I said but the genesis of why I'm DNT = I was banned for admitting to vading - though I must admit at the time I was addicted to the website and only admitted it because I was being blackmailed by another user to give him money or get reported. I decided to admit it since I'd have been caught eventually anyway. So it wasn't really a noble act admittedly. I put my moderator duties above my real life duties at times because I was so eager to make up for my mistake addled past.

Since then I'm not addicted to anything anymore (besides maybe dank memes), practice much healthier habits and try to manage my money a lot better. Ultimately was a painful experience and embarrassing, but I learned a lot from it too.

Thanks man, it has. Shitty situation but it has bettered me. I just accept that it happened now all I can do is be better because of it and not dwell on it too much.
