    The perfect white hat?

What set of languages/skills would you need to know to become a perfect all rounded coder or white hat?
The main aim would of course be to increase employability

you need to know a few to get somewhere.

A good combo would be, HTML, CSS, PHP, Java.

If you learnt this combo do you think it would be enough to start actually doing something useful?

These are for the most part web developing languages. You could in fact make your own websites with these languages, another one to check out would be mySQL, it plays along with PHP. Good Luck :D

Alright thanks! I'll also check this one out. One more question, if anyone reads this, At what point would you 'know' the language well enough to be a white hat? How extensively do you need to know it?

I don't think you know your terminology correctly. If you're using the term "white hat" by its explicit definition, you mean a "positive" hacker, in which case ASM, MASM, C, C++, VB6, VB.NET and PHP are almost all necessary.

If you just want to become a well-rounded coder, which is what I'm assuming by the replies of this thread, learn each of the kingpins of each category.

For extremely low level, MASM. For low level, C/C++. For high level, C# and Java. For web, PHP and ASP.NET - HTML5/JS is now also becoming relevant.

Depends on your learning capabilities, and how much effort you put into learning it.

Bingo! But also experience. You can't just watch a bunch of tutorial videos and expect to become an expert, you need to make projects on your own time and really immerse yourself into the languages. If you're diligent you could maybe teach yourself the syntax in 1 week for each language, but to become a "master" you might be looking at months of projects.

You should start from logical thinking and advanced math this really helps
Theres a nice book you can read by raymond smullyan "what is the name of this book"
My friend said once "you gotta like those exercises in this book not just solve them"
