When will jagex..

When will jagex improve their recovery system? Like after a certain period of time, new ips should be considered the main Ip address of the account etc etc

 

Never. People still manage to recover accounts by simply sumbitting an appeal using the same IP as the original registration IP, regardless of other information.

 

They never will change all they need is first I.P

 

Yeah jagex tries to favor the original owner of the account, so it's your fault for account trading

 

Jagex will always refer back to the IP used to create the account.

Though I do know some people who just recover old Runescape Accounts that are abandoned so the Recovery System could be improved for greater security as I know for a fact that they do not know the original information to securely recover an account.

I don't see a problem with the recovery system the way it is now. It does what it was made to do, return the account to the original owner. They aren't going to change the system so that it becomes easier for other people to recover, that just doesn't make sense.

Probably because that would make it too easy for accounts to be stolen. For example, say the original owner of account 'X' goes inactive for a while (quits, takes a break, etc.). Then some lucky person manages to recover the account, and the original owner doesn't take notice. If the person who Recovered it's IP were to be registered as the main IP, then the true owner would have a hard time getting his account back

 

So what you're really asking is when will Jagex change the recovery system to make it easier to trade accounts...

The entire point of the recovery system is to let the true owner of the account recover it back. They aren't going to change it to make it easier for buyers to keep their accounts.

 

Original ip > everything else. Know it, learn it, love it. It will never change. I have seen many jmod's posting on this subject on forums before.

 

What if you move.. then what?

 

Jagex will always fuck us over, I don't think it will ever happen. There's a reason they have the "If you have moved, check this box below and provide all information" form.

 

hmmm, so i guess seeking the ip of the buyer is the main thing you can do eh

 

Think their system is fine, since I've only ever sold accounts.
Why would they make it easier for people to account trade ?
