lol saying water is a human right is against survival of the fittest. Animals that don't have access to water die while those with access survive. If you are not fit to gain access to such a basic resource you shouldn't be reproducing and creating offspring that are bound to die due to lack of water. Cynical, yes, but that's life.

It doesn't matter what I think, that's not the topic. And I never said they don't have a right to life, everyone is born with a right to life, whether they can maintain it and survive is up to them and genetics. If you deny any of this then you're just living in fantasy land.

A human right isn't something that you need to make effort to maintain, it's something inherent to all human beings that cannot be lost. Just because some people are denied certain rights doesn't mean that they are not rights. If you believe in any kind of human rights whatsoever (right to not be enslaved?) then you must also believe in a right to water as water is necessary for life and life is a prerequisite for all other rights.

 

The right to liberty and equality are the only "guaranteed" human rights. Everything else is political.
