What's the best OS for running bots?

I have vista, and it's shit.

Should I upgrade to windows 7 for running bots?

I'm going to try and make a skill training business ect and I need rescources on my computer. ( I'll buy a new computer once money from my business can pay for it. )

If this is in the wrong section please move it.

Upgrading isn't really necessary for running bots but XP is the shit

 

It's more of a matter of his computer specs anyways. Either will do just fine.

 

W7 is just the same as XP, except it has more graphics and uses more resources.

But I guess it's easier to upgrade that it is to go find XP anymore... newegg might have it though.

If you're using vista changing OS isn't going to do much, you'd need to upgrade your computer.
Make sure you're up to date with all the vista updates though.

 

Vista is more processor-hungry so I would say it's a wise move to change to 7. I suggest you buy a VPS if you are serious about botting on multiple accounts.

 

The main issue is your computer specs, not your OS. Vista will run bots just fine. I used Vista before I made money (from botting of course) to build my new computer. I now use Windows 7, but like I said, Vista will run bots just fine.

Tell us your current specs, and that'll give us more insight into how well you can run bots.

 

I run my bots on a VPS running CentOS, and everything goes smoothly. I only run two AutoSoulWars bots at a time, and I feel that's a good amount (I could run more) for 2gb of ram.

 

You should do XP, but 7 is fine

Well, looks like you can run about four bots now assuming you have a decent GFX card. But if you wanna have a monster PC like grave's, get ready to drop two grands. It's expensive, but worth it in the end.

Yes, I'm usually running 3 at once but I'm looking at "cheapish" ways to maybe get a great computer.

I might go with a vps untill I make enough money off botting and selling accounts.

 

Windows 7 runs a bit more efficiently.

 

I use Windows Xp and they work just fine.

 

My Mac works great

 

64 bit is apparently better for running many programs at once, but really you're not going to get much out of upgrading your OS.

Doing things like defragmenting your drives, removing obsolete programs and so on will give you a little speed boost though.
