What's Nu Metal?

I've always wondered what it sounds like but I'm not sure what it sounds like. Can anyone link a song that's Nu Metal please? Also, I've been listening to Slipknot for a long time now and everyone is like "They're Nu Metal, it sucks" so if you know any Slipknot Nu Metal songs tell me please. Thanks.

 

Nu metal are bands labeled as mainstream and or bands who have sold out, they are any band that can be based in the genre of metal, that are

A. new and somewhat famous already
B. sell-outs (play for the money not the fans)
C. any band who has moved on to playing on mtv\mtv2\fuse etc.

 

mmmmmmmmm not exactly, for nu-metal usually refers to metal/rock that has an array of rap/hip-hop influences infused into it. For example Slipknot excessive usage of turn-tables is an example of hip-hop incorporated within the music. But to some degree Deadzone is right as a LOT bands do share the same characteristics listed.

 

Oh now I know, thanks. Yeah, but everyone hates Slipknot only because like 2 of their songs are Nu Metal and they have turn tables mean they suck. That's what pisses me off. I've also heard that Nu Metal is what people call Pop Metal.

 

I think POD is Nu Metal. Just if you were interested in listening to them.

 

ehh POD doesn't really qualify in the metal ranger there more of christian hard Nu rock if anything lol Not really sure what you would classify them as.

Well it's not really that there Nu metal. It is basically because of these few reasons.

1.They dislike sellouts
2. They are mushroomhead fans
3. They play instruments or have knowledge of instruments and realize that none of the songs are above a novice's level except for the drummers part.
4. They hate softer\harder metal (which ever it may be)
5. last but not least kids just want to act like there cool so they rip on a band because everyone else does, but if you go to there house open there closet they prolly have a shrine of the band up lol
