You're a twenty something man, fresh out of college. You have just graduated with a masters degree in the field of your choice. It seems you have a bright and sunny future ahead of you. You'll be sharing this with your future wife, Laura. Laura and you have been dating since freshman year, and you're inseparable. She has baby blue eyes and soft blonde hair. Besides being smart and beautiful, she has been there for you when you needed her most. She's the one that held your hand at your Mother's funeral, and you are one hundred percent sure that she loves you with all her heart.

After securing a wonderful job with a secure company, you decide it's time to make an honest woman out of Laura. After buying the finest ring available from your local jeweler, you get a strange phone call from Laura. She is audibly distressed and says she needs to have a talk with you right away. Shrugging it off, you go to her house believing that she had a fight with a girlfriend or perhaps someone had insulted her. You walk in, and before you can say anything, she touches your lips with her finger, silencing you. She sits you down, with a steady stream of tears falling down her face. She then proceeds to inform you that she was not born a woman. She assures you that she loves you very much, and that she hopes that with the time you have spent together you have learned to love her too, no matter what she is. You remember all those times you wanted to fool around, and she playfully told you that she wanted to wait until you were married..

Looking at you with those glistening baby blue eyes, she asks you, "Will you stay with me?"

Will you?

Does it matter if she is post-op or pre-op?

If you aren't going to stay with her because she is a liar, are you sure that's the only reason?

Explain your answer.

When you say not born a man? Do you mean not born a woman? and if that is the case then... I don't know but I'd most likley stay with her since I have a great future ahead of me and we both love each other. :)

I would not stay with her.

I would probably be very depressed to let her go, but it would bother me way to much and I just couldn't do it.

More than likely i would stay with 'her'.

I would miss out on child birth, but love is pretty good to.

what? she was born a man or... this doesn't even make sense.

i might stay with her, but be VERY drunk if it all there is any sex.

That's quite the mind fuck.

(Especially since I'm trying to figure out how to re-word the hypothetical in order to answer it. :p)

If I were a guy though, I'd have to say no, for a couple reasons. First of all, I don't date people who'd lie about anything that important. If it turned out she were calling to bring up the ex-husband she'd forgotten to mention, I'd probably break it off too.

Secondly, I think I'd have to be in the situation and know the person to be able to honestly claim that I wouldn't care. I identify as heterosexual, and asking in the hypothetical if I'd be okay dating someone of the same sex (whether post or pre-op) is an awkward question. Thus, I would have to agree with her self-identification as a woman (presumably as the product of biological factors) before I could conceive of a relationship.

Yes, not born a woman. I guess saying that she wasn't born a man totally fucks up the predicament, eh :)?

Fixed.

id stay with her and yea just get an op to make her a women and get any man bits out cause u got the trust there and it takes time to build up trust and for her to finally tell u sumthin that big iis and would be a gaint leap in the relationship.

kids wise, who cares if u cant have any just think cut back on condoms and if u really want kids you's always got adoption when u think ur ready for em.

but if you broke up with her imagine how she'd feel, she'd feel crushed and driven into the ground just to no that all that support u had for her is gone in that moment and she'd prob most likely kill herself cause ur not showing that u truly love her for whgo she is and not her personnality

I wouldn't penalize her because she lied, only because you can't spring something that serious on someone right away in a relationship.

To be honest, I would have to end the relationship for multiple reasons. Someday, I don't know when, I'm looking forward to having my own children, obviously not possible in this situation. I would continue to be available for her and console her, but I wouldn't be able to marry her after finding out she was a man, it would just be a conflict of morals

Well she has kept a continuous lie for about four years, so that's not really helping her case, but more importantly, I would have to know more about this person, especially considering the fact that I've never been in love so I wouldn't know what mindset I would have.

I shouldn't have clicked this thread:(

To be honest I don't know what I would do. If I seriously felt that attached to a person I don't think I could continue without "her", but life would just be way to weird after learning about it:huh:

like finn said, HUGE breach of trust. I would leave it, depressed, heartbroken and angry with myself for falling into something like that.

I'm not sure what i'd do when it talked to me though... i've been in a serious relationship before and know afterward the memories are still there. Really deep question, but i'd definitely break things up and never talk to Laura again.

Probably turn to alcohol or just try to eliminate every memory possible.

who would honestly stay "him" lmao
