What VPS to choose?

Hello there, I'm planning to start a smallish bot farm and I take it that I'll need a decent VPS to run multiple bots efficiently. So being completely new to VPS world, I'm lost and I don't want to end up buying a shitty one that will get my accounts banned in a couple days or one that can't handle my bots without lag.

Setup:
- Planing to start with 5 bots, running a gathering script;
- The bots being from Osbot;
- Got 8GB of Ram in my computer if that matters at all.

Ram on your computer doesn't matter with a VPS. A VPS is essentially a computer but terminally. I would honestly just buy proxies for all those bots and run on your computer if it has 8gb of ram. That's plenty of ram. You could run another 5 I bet.

 

Can you instruct me on what differs from a VPS to a proxy?

 

VPS stands for virtual private server. In basic terms, it's basically like a virtual computer that you can connect to and then run your bots on there.

A proxy basically is what you can use on your own computer to disguise your IP and temporarily have a different one.

 

And I can be running 5 proxys with 5 different bots at the same time? Won't the proxys themselves slow down the computer? Also, do you think it would be cheaper to invest in proxys or VPS?

You can run separate proxies on each account with ease. The proxies should not slow down the computer, but they could slow down your internet speed. If you only plan on running 5 bots at a time I would suggest just using a proxy. A decent VPS will cost at the very least $5 per account, and a private proxy is less than $2.

 

Like I said, purchase proxies for the accounts. No need to buy a VPS when your computer can support it. However, if the computer can support it, then you buy a vps.

 

how can u assign a separate proxy to each account?

 

On TriBot when you start the client there is an option to input a proxy. So, for TriBot you need to open multiple clients (NOT TABS inside one client) to give each bot their own proxy.

I don't know if other clients have this option. Certainly not for free users though.

 

But using only one proxy if one account gets banned the others will have the exact same IP as the banned account right? Which essentially means that the concept of using a proxy isn't there since the proxys are supposed to assign different IP's to each account?

At leas this is my udnerstanding, please correct me if I'm wrong
