Anyone using still using VB6 should be deported to a distant island. I can't believe people waste their time with something inferior in almost every way. It impresses no one.

I use 6.0. It's very simple, it's not updated. I honestly have seen no differences in the other versions that are great enough to change my mind.

To war833: ALOT of people use 6.0 still for alot of reasons. If you want to make a client or something related to that 6.0 is by far the best way to go. The newer versions are pretty horrible for that.

I'm currently using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 because thats what my school uses and none of the programs I try to edit at home will run under 2010, so I just downgraded it to 2008. Honestly I really don't see any differences between the two except that 2010 loaded a couple seconds faster than my current 2008 version does.

Personally Vb6, can make anything i want with it and it's just a simple search away if i can't do something :), tho if you're just starting i would probably have to suggest the latest as if you use the older one's for to long and switch to the later one's you'll find yourself having to use replace to fix anything you make (I've done it a few time's, trying to make a simple program having to replace lots of functions lol)
