Moving to knew school, bad experince last time, help?

I didnt know exactly what i should title this so i just said a bad experince.
Well whats happening is im moving again (had another thread a few months ago about moving to this school.. now im moving away again lol)

This is pretty much my social life throughout the years.


6th grade, was short, chubby, shy, 1 out of like 5 white kids in school, rest were black so i was kinda just outta place...

7th grade (new school), did every sport imaginable, thined out and got muscle and was starting to make friends

8th grade, Best year so far, extreamly good time... lived in florida, well liked.. awesome friends

9th grade (new school in Ohio) had to get use to people up here, their alot different... so had a few good friends not much

10th grade (another new school) extreamly shy and didnt talk much, and iv been in this school for 7 months and its pretty much the same.. i dont talk to people and they dont talk to me.. i wasnt welcomed by anyone really so i never really established myself in a group.. i do sports but joining this school halfway through the year i could only join track and this team doesnt act like a team so its not helping really...

now im moving to florida again, just a different part... i dont want to make the same mistake and be all shy and stuff and have no one talking to me.. but i dont wanna be completly outgoing and have some people think im weird or something cause im an off the wall type person if im comfortable around people..

any help on what i can do next time? I move in August

Ah, I'm a lot more South than that. Anyway, about your problem, I've found that if you don't TRY to fit in, then you usually succeed. Sports are a huge thing at my school, so if you play Football or basketball you'll be fine.

 

I think thats what it is tbh... like i said 8th grade was my best.. the was the first year i did Football for my school.. 9th and 10th i was out with a back/knee injury... plus going in as a junior i need to pack on some weight... idk any starting 5'9 140lb Varsity Wr/Cb's lol...

 

From my experience just talk to people around you who are in your classes. That is how I made a majority of my friends. I understand it must be hard to find friends in high school but try to find people who have common interests eventually you will just ease into a certain crowd. Good luck when you go to your new school.

 

Generally make an impression of you being a nice person on those around you in classes and in the sports teams you like to participate in. You will naturally be drawn to a few of them (your potential best friends) and then will have a group(s) to be associated with.

If you're shy, then that's just you. It might just be me, but I went through years of trouble trying to fix my extreme shyness. It wasn't all milk and cookies along the way.

Don't try to force yourself into doing something.
But don't pass out on opportunities and chances that may never come again and have courage.

 

Its better to be outgoing than shy, I'd say so. Don't be pushy obviously but you're going to need to take some risks. New schools in the middle of HS will always be tough, but maybe try getting onto a sports team again, you've got till august so you can bulk up till then.

Talk to your classmates, find out what people do on the weekends and go out. Don't be kept to yourself, be positive and confident and it'll help.

how about some advice on on pretty much tellin a girl shes (cute pretty beautiful ect) without sounding like a creep haha not that iv done this cause im was to shy here but somethin about gave me confidence a feel years ago, just have to find it again

 

The trick to everything is do not be shy. If you're shy it will go all downhill from there. First people will think "Wow that kid is weird, he doesn't talk at all", and then it will turn into "I heard that kid touches himself in the bathroom", and god knows what else. I see this happen a lot to people, they don't talk and so everyone just assumes things about them, but if you get to know them they are pretty cool.

This will also help with talking to girls. If you are known as an outgoing kid the girl isn't going to be like "who the fuck is this kid and why is he talking to me". If you're outgoing then it could either be an "aww thats cute", or even better, the start of something good.

but isnt that how it will be if the person doesnt realize im new... theyll just be like wtf... idk you lol... not outloud but probably in their head...

 

Maybe at first, but honestly it will be 100x better then waiting and them wondering why you don't talk and why you are so strange. You only get one first impression, and you want to make it count.

Good luck! And remember, no matter what anyone says, you're going to be nervous, but don't worry about that because no one expects any more of you. Its only natural to be nervous on your first day anywhere, and the best thing you can do is just be yourself and go with the flow.

 

Be like-able. Don't act all cool and all. Just act yourself. Do what interests you. Try not being shy. If anyone starts a convo with you, continue it or at least try to. No one likes to meet someone, ask a question and then get a simple straightforward answer. People tend to be like "he's so boring" once they see someone like that and discard them from being friends.

BE YOUR SELF and dont act like that new tough kid ..Just Wondering but what kind of guy are u ? a person who gets bullied or athlete? or sumthing else

Just be yourself mate Don't feel that you need to act any certain way or be somebody that you are not just so you can gain the respect of your peers. The best thing you can do is just be the person that you are.

Also, just be friendly and make an effort to talk to people and make some friends. I am sure if you put yourself out there and introduce yourself to some new people, that you will begin making friends and building yourself an exciting social life in no time
