Is Bitcoin a good investment? Opinions.

Why or why not consider Bitcoin as a good investment at the moment? I am thinking of beginning to invest my funds in Bitcoin as PayPal has become a hassle and I would like to make a potential profit. However at the same time it does dip and can get hacked.

So can anyone experienced or even new to this and wants to share their opinion want to go over why they think Bitcoin is a good investment or not?

Right. I think it's way to risky to be a good investment. It fluctuates a lot. I wouldn't mind putting some money into it, but I wouldnt put more than 5%.

 

Why not invest in stocks? Also how much $ are you thinking of investing?

 

btc is more of a short term investment i would say guess the fluxuation and try to merch it. i would advise watching the market and keeping a eye on btc news as it has been banned in some countrys so when a country unbans it ect or a bank accepts it it will rise hope that helped

 

I don't see it as a good investment, although it is still good to get into it and accept bit coins as payment / pay with it when needed. I remember back when they were like $20 per bitcoin when my high school teacher first told us about it, that was back when there were less bit coins and less people mining them. Anymore it has become so inflated I can't believe it has stayed over $200 for any amount of time other than during a massive dump from some of the original miners that horded it in the beginning.
With any Crytocurreny, stock, and even regular currency you are taking a chance that the price will drop and you will be left with nothing. If you are looking to use bitcoins as your new savings account, personally I am against that, but if you want to just use it to buy and sell goods then transferring access bitcoins to an actual savings account go for it yo, it would only increase client base.

 

BitCoin is definitely a short term investment..just buy some stock mutual funds with a 12% return. Make loads over like 60 years.

 

No, I don't think it's a good investment. I've laid out my point of view on several of these threads over the last year, so do a bit of digging if you're after it. tl;dr, invest in something else

Its a good way to invest in it but the prices crash like hell and than go up etc, not stable.

Like any investment, you need to do your own research and make calculated risk.

I personally do not feel comfortable holding more Bitcoin than I can afford to lose. However, I feel the price of Bitcoin will go over $1000 again.

 

The benefit of Bitcoin as an investment is that it's very liquid and you can sell it as soon as you want to cash out, very easily.

As previously mentioned, it's in a a very volatile state atm - high risk high reward.

It really depends on whether you believe in the importance of Bitcoin and its future.

Just make an educated guess on what the price of BTC will be in exactly 12 months from now. If you believe in BTC and you believe it may recover and do well, it's a really good investment. If you don't believe in BTC then you're better off investing in stocks or something else.

 

I would personally not invest in btc due to the high risks im sure you can find something else, just go to your local bank and talk about investments. Last year i invested 1200 and this year i cashed out 4800€

Essentially though OP, if you don't have money to just blow then don't invest in bitcoins. There are innumerable other slow, but decent investments that you can make.

 

so far every single time i've gotten btc, all it does is dwindle down in value. i try to sell it asap every time i get it.

I was thinking something similar today. Runescape gold has proven to be more stable in price than Bitcoin. However, you don't really own your gold, Jagex does.

@op, bitcoins are unstable in price and apart from that you
ve got no physical evidence that you own them like a stock certificate, so if you somehow loose them you're completely fucked.

 

It is extremely high risk. Be prepared to lose absolutely everything you put in them or don't invest in them at all.

 

Not atm. The price of bitcoin has gone down by a lot.
