what should world leaders do about climate change

im from australia, and we just changed parliment leaders, the country leadership was all about climate change, this year.
i believe.
so are prime minsister now is kevin rudd of the australian labor party.
so this just shows how important this topic is in the political world.
but there has to more than about changing leaders it has to be about actions, doing what you promised.
and finally fixing up this beutiful planet.

The United States leader should admit that it is happening.

 

Nothing, it's too late to slowly change the ways of living to lower it with no drastic measures. If anything were to be done right now it would need to be very drastic which would majorly upset the economy and the ways everyone live and as we all know, no citizen except for maybe a handful (compared to the actual population of the world) would willingly give up their comfortable way of living to save the earth and possibly the continuation of life.

 

There is nothing that they can do about it.

 

there is nothing we can do, the earth has been warming ever since the ice age if it wasnt warming we'd be under a mile thick block of ice, the world changes on its own we cant stop it

 

there are tons of things they can do. enforce more pollution laws, put more money into alternative forms of energy. there are many MANY ways the world leaders can control climate change.

Also on the idea the earth if still warming up from the ice age, there have been six ice ages in the past, and even after all of them the tempuratures on earth have never been as high as they are now.

To be honest I don't care about climate change. I'll be dead by the time it has a extremely serious effect. Flame me, but be able to back it up with proof

i'd say nothing because like the z says its natural. however i dont think its a cycle it happens but not often to be considered a cycle. however something should be done.world leaders aren't here to solve all our problems. everyone has to contribute a bit to it. besides, its our fault this shit is happening right?

He also has been wrong about many things. Other people predicted the end of the world on this date. Nostradamus also left his predictions open ended, and veige so most likely bound to come true, he also said we can change the future, but this topic is not about him.

You say its natural, then you say its our fault? conflicting data, what do you have to prove its our fault? You also said world leaders are't here to solve our problems, I would tend to disagree, they are here to solve problems within the world, if their were no problems, then we would need no leaders. What shit is happening? climate changes are natural....

In all seriousness, I don't believe we can do anything about it now. Whats done is done and it was done a long time ago.

A biased documentary is hardly a credible source. Ever heard of the phrase "card stacking"?

In terms of what can be done... Even if the US, Australia, Canada, UK, etc make strict laws regarding pollution, we'll still have countries that don't, and the situation will continue to get worse. We can't go into India, Mexico, or any country for that matter and force them to regulate pollution. Hopefully scientists will find some realistic solution to the problem. In the mean time, I'll keep letting the Government create more and more regulations on pollution which costs businesses more and more to make products and which causes the product to cost more and more on the shelf. We're in a fun, vicious cycle, and theres no way in hell I'm using strange lightbulbs if other places in the world make the annoyance happen in vein.

 

At this point there is really nothing that could be done that would be significant enough to do anything. Nostrodamus said many things, thousands upon thousands of predictions, statistically speaking some of the have to come true at some point in time. He wasn't a sightseer by anyone standards. Anyways, yeah we could switch over to more enviroment friendly fuel sources, but would they be more economically friendly. I know that oil prices have gone through the roof, but how much would it cost to develop these fuel sources, how much would it take to put them into production? I love my V8 and I'll continue to buy gas for my gas guzzling 14mpg Dodge RAM, as well as my GSX-R 1000.

 

Change the system that we live in. Ban cars but allow food, oil, medicin etc. transportation. Give every person a job near their home. Might be diffucult though.

I dont care I'll be dead anyways and I´ll rather get out of my grave sooner than later.
