What should Jagex do about begging?

This game has got to be the worst for it. There are people who make fresh accounts to beg, people who
make fake females to beg, people who sit on high levels and beg, pity begging, fake scam begging, etc.
Jagex has to do something about it, it's gotten to the point where every single world at the Grand
Exchange has these people begging - not only that but it works.

Rich people obtaining gold through asking / begging for money should totally be against the rules.
How to manage it though? I don't know. What do you guys think? Should begging be bannable?

 

No I don't think begging should warrant a ban. I think excessive spamming anything in RuneScape should result in a 24 hour mute at least though. I think spammers just bring the game down for the true player base of this game which is bad for us all.

 

I actively beg and don’t think it should be bannable. I type manually though. Few months ago I had 10 accounts with various names like

BEGGING MONK
BEGGINK M0NK

I wore full Monk Robe G, Wooden Shield G. Begged for rune pickaxes. I accumulated a little over 1000 in one month total.

I agree with Golds. Mass spamming should be mutable 24 hours at a time regardless of what it is. (Unless it’s a malicious spam such as advertising websites, that should be a ban).

 

I feel like it will be hard to find a way to fix it and not be to over the top.

 

Banning begging is a bad policy. Eventually most give up and actually, you know, play the game and realize making GPs isn't too hard.

 

No reason to ban begger’s.
RS is a Role-Playing MMO.
It’s midevil times & you bet there were beggars back then. It helps with the lore of the game.
Shit man, there are beggars in 2018 that make 50-100K a year begging.
That doesn’t mean they should be shot
The only group that begging “negatively”
affects is the people who make the decision to give to the beggars ha, but then again, I have never met someone who said they “Regretted” giving a bum money after they did so lol.

(Let it be known, I am not endorsing / promoting begging in game or irl. Just defending my stance on why it shouldn’t be a banable offence)

 

Most people beg because it's an easier way to make money. Lots of people make up stories, do it on fake female accounts, etc. And yes, I also think people who beg IRL that don't need to should be shot.

 

I think the people who beg for "personal gain" should only be muted temporarily, but the people or bots who spam "WWW.X.COM FREE FIRECAPE SERVICE" should be banned.

 

i think its kinda fun people do it, as long as it stays at the GE. but when people go to the slayer cave and say shit like "trade me you wont regret it" this shit just needs a ban imo
