Buddhism doesn't require that there be a higher spiritual power. i believe Buddha was somebody who did many great things, and you should base your life on his teachings

Buddhist... sort of..

I practice the ways of buddhism, paganism, and mythology. I kind of have a combined set there, but how it works is I worship my spirit, but I worship the Earth and live off of it, and mythology for the way I worship. I give everything a name... Oh, and Buddhism does not say you just need to be kind to others... there's so much, Buddha wasn't that great either.. he didn't even follow his own teachings, the name simply stuck. The man mooched off of others, and was commonly seen eating people out of house and home with the common "You don't want to eat that, give that to me and I shall save you from the burdens of food" type spiel.

But the eightfold path to elightenment is what came from Buddha's "preachings"...That's true Buddhism..

and fyi... Druids invented meditating, Buddha didn't.
