What LVL to get up?

I am making a F2P mage for the wildy.
I am currently 30 mage and 1 every other combat lvl.
Should I just keep levelling mage or should I level something else with it?
I've never really had interest in the wildy, so I am a little new to it.

 

I tried that, and it was rather hard to win a pvp.

Personally I would recommend either Defense, or HP to go with a high magic level for F2P.

However you cannot get defense unless you Soul War it in P2P.

just mage in fog until you get about 45 hp then alch/curse till 84 ?

 

I can use defensive cast? That gets mage and def xp at the same time.

 

I would go with mage and defense. You will be unstoppable

 

What level defence?

 

high level magic really isnt that good for f2p, i suggest going p2p and barraging with 94 mage.
Make a str/range pure if f2p.

 

This. P2P mage is a lot better. I think you'll need some defence and prayer for Ancients, so you can quest for them.

 

Well mage pking is only good when you are a low lvl , you can hit big hits at low levels , but for bigger levels it sucks , so you should get attack/str.

 

IMO pking only with magic sucks. Need range / melees also :L

 

This isn't going to go well unless you're extremely low level. Getting defence would only make it worse. You'll be wearing robes so there's really no point in defence.
