What Is Wrong With Sythe?

It gets annoying when you just want to get your money in a hurry, but the mm asks you to fill out forums and stuff like that.

 

I understand what your saying, but not everyone who doesn't use an omm is a scammer. I think i've done 5 swaps/sales so far and haven't used an omm once. If their was some free omms, I feel less people would be scammed. And also seeing that alot of people are banned for scamming shows the staff is doing a good job in catching and stopping them from scamming again.

 

There are plenty free, trusted MM's. If you aren't willing to spend a few dollars, then do some research on free MM's and pick the best one available.

I don't purchase/sell anything anymore, I have been scammed twice and one time I lost 700m, there is hardly anyone on this site that isn't a scammer, I don't trust anybody at all and im only still here because I like to discuss RS in the general section mainly.

 

The application the MM often requires you to fill out takes , or should take, 45 seconds max.

 

I do, I have used a couple MM's already but never an OMM. I have also been called a "scammer" numerous times because I would ask to use a MM, even if he was a mod and highly trusted.

 

I have tried trades with MMs and without, I much prefer having my trade MM if the other party tries to recover the account or money or the pin doesn't work it's really easy to get them banned and prevent them scamming others, just having an MM there can prove you actually did the trade. MMs like Hitman require a minimalistic amount of time filling in forms, he is also FREE and trusted! (if he all of a sudden gets banned I'm going to look like a right tit)

If I'm in a trade and I offer to pay the OMM fees and the other party declines that doesn't make them a scammer, but in my eyes it often makes me suspicious so I report them here anyway.

 

Better them being banned and unable to scam then unbanned and scamming :')

The way Runescape Account recovery works now middlemanning is pointless. Sure, the TRADE might be safe/smooth, but after all that is over with and the person recovers the account, it ends up not being so "safe."

 

This site attracts children, often between 10 and 15, who want at least one of the following:
a) A quick way to get a high level account (ex, bots or account sales)
b) Quick money or gp (the rest of the market)
c) Membership

Most people probably don't come here to scam. But, kids don't really have the resources to get what they want on their own, and they don't have much restraint either - if they really want something and know their parents won't pay for it, many will do what they can to get it anyway. Given that the majority of people are here for shortcuts, and as easy as stealing is here, the ban rate isn't shocking.

The site does what it can to limit the problem (banning scammers, chasing evaders, etc), but I think it's really the age group the site caters to that's the problem. As for why there are so few older players here, I haven't the slightest idea.

I've been a member on another market with a higher maturity level and for the most part higher age group. Scams hardly ever happen there, but it's not for runescape cheating. Mainly world of warcraft.

On other forums for non-gaming markets such as sitepoint, namepros, etc they hardly have scammers. They have advanced conmen and when someone scams there, it's big time and they get a 10 page thread and a track down via police.

It's all a matter of the age group and what sin said, which is why people get banned so much. Then they come on new accounts and people later find they were ban evading and just get banned again. It's a really big pile up to be honest. At the same time though, there are tons of legitimate and worthy people of being here. Very few get unfairly banned...but unfair I would say is my opinion.

 

It's not my intention at all to complain that people that get banned for valid reasons.

It's my intention to vent frustration how extremely dumb this community is, how easily people leave their life values when they enter an anonymous forum, how easy it is for anyone to scam here and how low people will go for a buck (seriously $1).

I would make a prop bet with anyone here ($50-150 1:1 odds) that I can scam a level 120+ account 10m+ wealth in less than 48 hours (I would return it though obviously...)

I also believe authority figures on Sythe need immediate English lessons, if a administrator/moderator could PM me I would gladly explain why, I just got an ridiculous infraction and would like you to read my reply and explain why I am right or wrong.

 

There will always be scammers, but we try our best to combat this problem. We do our part by banning scammers, but you should always put in your research before using the Black Market. A lot of scams can be avoided by simply doing a background check on the person you are trading with.

We also have Official Middlemen for a reason. Although fees might be a little expensive, it is a small price to pay to guarantee a successful trade.

 

People that refuse a MM are very likely to be a scammer, i wouldnt use a omm if im honest i dont really want to pay the fees...
Sythe i think is a gr8 site and the reason it does so well is because there are the options of using a mm and a Omm

 

I think too less people are getting banned.

A MM maybe guarantees a successful trade, but you still can get scammed after the trade. Every account is recoverable, no matter what.

 

It's a risk you take when you purchase an account. The best you can do is get a recovery test done so you'll be able to recover it too.

Well I've never actually ever used a mm. Out of all my trade I either went first or they went first to me, funnily enough when I do mm I find it a time consuming for me and the account buyer/seller, but hey, if it saves you from being scammed it's worth it.

But on topic, people who trust User educaters because they have a rank is stupid. Anybody can be an Ue. It only requires intelligences also for the 75% of people banned aren't usually banned for scamming but ban vading. As 1 person becomes banned they are more than likely to come back and vade then somebody finds them and reports. Hence lots of new user having a banned rank.
