What is a MM? And why use one?

Well i have searched the forum and cannot find this , I have just written this myself and took me like 10-20 minutes, I know its not the best explained guide but i think its ok for people who need to know about this stuff so here goes.

Many people ask why should we use a middleman for a trade? or Middleman will just make the trade go alot slower and it won't be over and done with fast.

But the true fact is a middleman is like your best friend when you are selling/Buying on a forum, In this article i am going to explain what a MM does and why it is good to use one , So lets start with :-

What is a middleman and what does it do?
Basicly a middleman is a person who is willing to give up there free time to help you trade and to make sure you do not get scammed, It is usually a trusted member of the community but sometimes can be a non-trusted member trying to build up his rep,Basicly a middleman is there for you to ask to assist you when buying / selling an item so that he can help you and the person trade.

What is there method that will help us complete the trade?
Every MM has a different method of helping people trade but the method that i see most common in communitys is :
. Take the sellers item off of the seller.
. Take the money / Item off of the buyer.
. Check the account / Item is correct ( Or how it should be ).
. Give the sellers item to the buyer and the buyers item / Money to the seller

What should people be aware of when using a MM?
Everyone should be aware that not all MM's are trustwurthy but if you choose one that has alot of trust/rep with the community then alot of the time they will be good to use.
People should also know that MM's are not always free and sometimes might charge for you to use there services.

ok but heres a question, how would they check to make sure an x box live code is a valid 1? is there anyway to check other than typing it in? (since then the MM would have the XBL)

 

Pictures? What does an Official Middleman look like? And add more color. Also, a bit more information would not go astray. How do you spot imposters?

The MM would go on http://xbox.com and sign into the account the buyer is wanting to put the code on. He/She then tries to put the code on the account, and if it succeeds, the seller or the MM shall transfer the payment to the buyer. It's quite simple.

This guide has a good start, but can be extended MUCH more.

Thanks for comments , First time making a guide and the idea of putting the mm picture didnt come to me May edit it tonight.

 

Nice guide considering it was done in like 10-20 mins. Try working a bit on it and it will be really good.

 

You can't really determine what an Official Middleman looks like. I don't think theres any relevant pictures, regarding an Official Middleman as far as looks go.


Good guide though, 7/10. I think the white got a little annoying. Try adding a bit more variety.

 

I mean the OMM logo next to the name. If people don't know what they're looking for, anyone could pass themselves off as OMM's.
