What Do You Need For WoW

I would like to play wow as I have seen a lot of my friends play the game and I know how fun it can be... most people that i know that play RS and WoW like WoW better... But... I have a problem... i have really slow internet... RS runs just fine but I was worried about buying WoW and then having trouble playing the game.... Could someone please let me know the lowest speed internet that the game can run on? I have an awesome computer that is built for gaming it just has crappy internet.... I think my speed is .7 or something like that... its the best for my area so i can't get anything better... Thanks for any help...

    Thanks Again In Advance,

    -Deathmaul-

PS. I can play RS in the highest quality and it
runs fine. Sometimes in a crowded world its laggy
but other then that its fine.

Well, the game CAN run on a dial-up connection, though that being it will disconnect you a lot, and you will suffer quite terrible lag, so bad that you might want to punch a whole in your monitor (trust me i know). If you want to do raids, probably about 30kB/s would be alright, usually it doesn't use more than that, it's only an MMO after all and really none of them use much.

i used to have the same problem you have, and it really isnt gunna effct you too much. you will be able to train dungeon and battleground all normally, jsut my suggestion to you is avoid the high popluated main cities (dalaran, SW, org, IF) especially if you are on a high populated server. yest you may have to travel a bit and go out of your was but it is better than moving in frames and not being able to control your character ;)

Yeah you should be fine just avoid dalaran and I wouldnt get too keen on 25 man raids.

i played on a shitty connection for 2 years and it was fine, massive pain in the ass at moments, had to skip on raids because of my internet. i pretty much DC'd at every boss fight haha.

you can get awesome plans anyway these days for cheap, just convince your parents to change ;)

Might also be worth grabbing WoW Tunnels or something similar which can really help.

Honestly what you probably should try is get someone to toss you a 10 day free trial if they're not still offering them, and run it for a few days start leveling and see how it goes.... then decide if you wanna invest the money.

No he can go into his account management, and send you a "Recruit-a-friend" thing to your email. It'll give you steps how to download the game, and setup your trial account. You can't trade, or talk to anyone while on trial unless they add you to their friends though.

And once you've made your decision you can go to the store, and buy the full game and upgrade your account, and play the full game. A trial account can't go over level 20.

    EDIT:
Though warning, when you upgrade your account some restrictions may take 72hrs to remove. But you'll be able to exceed level 20 right away after the upgrade.

If you're keen on fast paced raiding or pvp(arena), you need fast internet.

"wasn't that bad" I don't think there would be any reason you would ever even need that speed lol :p

Yea i had a cousin that played WoW on dial up. He said all he couldn't do was sit in Dal or do big raids like ICC.
And on battle.net you can sign up for a trial :p.
