What do you do for your acne?

I'm curios I've done a lot and nothing completely works.

 

Mines not severe, so I just let it come and go.

 

Drink lots of water and use tooth paste on your face.

Mine isn't that bad. It's in small amounts but large quantities.

I do most of that though. I must have every sort of cream.

I drink lots of water. I've hard toothpaste a lot of times. I can imagine it being successful on large zits but probably not so much smaller ones. I'll try it tonight though.

 

Never get it. If I do, it's one at a time and barely visible. And I do absolutely nothing. Just don't forget to shower daily and wash your face with soap if you do get it.

 

I just wash my face each day in the morning and at night. When my acne was at its peak, I was using Proactive, but it never really helped.

 

www.acne.org their products are basically the same as proactive but much cheaper. I've been using their stuff for 2 years and it works great. Plus I learned a bunch from the site about acne and why people get it.

 

umm i dont have any, and I dont wash my face either.

but if you wash your face and get some products, it should go away soon

 

Also, I've heard sun helps.

Tanning, outside or in a tanning bed.

 

I had pretty bad acne, or i thought it was pretty bad anyway.

I saw a dermotologist (a skin specialist) and he recommended that i wash my face with Cetaphil twice a day (morning and night) take 2 of some tablets that help with the acne (1 morning and 1 at night) and use some cream at night time. Think its called Epiduo or something like that. The Epiduo and tablets are prescribed drugs though.

But the dermotologist said that my acne should be all cleared up 12 weeks after starting the treatment. I'm 1 month into it now and my skin is looking pretty good. I basicly have no pimples or anything, just the redness that is supposed to be completely gone after the 12 weeks is up.

I definately recommend seeing a dermotologist, they know what they are doing. They specialize in acne and acne treatments. I'm thinking of asking for some red light, blue light treatment to speed up the process of getting rid of acne. The red light kills the acne cells i think and the blue light stimulates those cells that heal it. It's some special treatment thing, they do all kinds of stuff there.

 

I wash my face twice a day...mine isn't bad at all though.

 

Sun helps, I went to Europe for a cruise for 2 weeks, was outside almost every day and I had 0 acne. I come back to WA state and my face is crap again. That's mostly because I've been a loner for the past 5 days and stayed inside and haven't touched sunlight. Eating crap food doesn't help either.

washing your face too much can trick your body into thinking you're not making enough thus making your face produce more.

And when washing your face, hot water to open the pores, cold water to close the pores. As hot as you can take it, and as cold as it will go.

Ive tried lots of creams etc, but i will soon check out a dermatologist, its not bad for me, but i am very vain.

 

I got it pretty bad, but it left a year and a half ago. I went to see a dermatologist, but the stuff he gave me made my skin dry and gave me nose bleeds a lot, which was annoying trying to sleep considering we had a drought that year. I tried the three step things but they just didnt seem to work, but I wanted to get rid of it pretty bad for school, and I used this stuff.
I would take a bath (since I was going to be in there a while) and used a neutrogena oil free scrub (Its in a orange pump bottle) it stings a bit, but then it got better. I also used neutrogena 3 in 1 scrubbing pads, those are great and I still use them to prevent breakouts, just rub them in and let it sit for 30 seconds then wash. I then used clean and clears oxygenating facial scrub and left it on for 30 seconds, it makes your skin feel REALLY good and clean. Finally I used Nivea for mens face scrub it. All of this got rid of my acne in 4 days no joke, I did this every night, and put toothpaste on them before I went to bed. I hope this helped you.

EDIT: This will probably cost you about $15, but it lasts for a month or so. Just remember to keep your face/hair/body clean.

 

Hmm interesting. I've been to a dermatologist three times. I should go again though. I'm not taking any pills.

How much do you think the red/blue light treatment costs? Is it covered by insurance?

 

I don't blame you for that. My little brother went to a dermatologist and they were going to give him pills until the Dr told my mom that there was a high chance of suicide while taking the pills.

Anyways, I have like every acne cream ever made, and nothing that says it works, works. I'll try that oil-free acne scrub that somebody else used
