What do our oceans really contain?

Water, you're going to tell me? Yes, maybe. Well, in case you've never heard it before, 95% of our oceans remain unexplored. Add to the fact that they take up about 71% of Earth space.

Still not impressed? Here's one for you: While we've sent dozens of people to the ISS (International Space Station) for numerous missions, only 3 people have descended to the deepest part of the ocean, which is also known as Mariana Trench.

So, in other words, we know very little about our oceans. Why? Some people say it isn't as important as space funding because you can actually see things up there, but down there, good luck carrying a light that is enough to shine in order to see stuff around you. Also, sure, it's hard to get a spaceship, or even a probe into space. But it's not an easy task either to get someone to the bottom of the ocean, where the pressure is most likely unbearable.

With some underwater anomalies such as the Baltic Sea anomaly, conspiracies around the massive landforms they found under Antarctica, unexplained underwater sounds and something we're a bit more familiar with, the abyss, I think there is enough to take a few steps back and analyze the situation.

Therefore, we come to ask ourselves: Do aliens live in our oceans?

Here's an interesting theory that will make you think twice about the question.

I personally am not sure what is the most scary. The fact that there could be aliens among our oceans or simply not knowing what we'll find down there when the technology will allow us to.

 

I'm not sure if this is on topic or not. However, it's interesting to think extremophiles that exist in such places manage to do so.

I would like there to be a fully documented effort into ocean exploration. It could uncover so much.

 

I'm glad you mentionned the documentary, because believe it or not, one of the three person that went down there was James Cameron, the famous filmmaker, back in 2012. If it's something that interests you, look up "Deepsea Challenge" on google and you will find the documentary about Cameron's solo dive to the depths of the Mariana Trench.

There's only a handful of documentaries about the depths of the oceans and the situation will remain the same for a long time due to the insane pressure and the unknown of these latter. Cameron and his team built themselves from scratch a deep-diving manned submersibles at the cutting edge of technology and let's just say it wasn't free, in fact it cost more than 5 million USD.

Since you mentioned antarctica i have to mention this @Zero

There is a map, dating to 1513, that shows the northern coastline of Antarctica in perfectly detail. Not only is this detail technically impossible to achieve in 1513 but it shows the coastline under the ice. And remarkably compared to the small parts we can see with satellites the map seems to be accurate.

How is that possible? according to science that last time antartica was unfrozen was 6000 years ago? is that not true? Also the detail in which the coastline was portraited shouldn't be possible without modern technology that was not available in 1513 ( say UFOs are real and have been for thousands of years they would be able to do so btw)

The author of the map admits to copying older sources. But if it shoudnt be possible to map in 1513 who mapped it 6000+ years ago?

It's very probably Brazil. Also, the notes with the map describe the land as being "very hot".

 

There have been a large amount of UFO sightings near and in oceans, some from ships and some from land that meets the ocean. Christopher Columbus saw strange lights moving beneath his ship and fly out of the water into the sky. If aliens have visited our planet I would assume they also need water to survive so the ocean seems like a good place to camp out.
