What can someone do with my ip?

im looking to get someone to do fight caves for me but i am worried that he/she will get my ip and do something with it like hacking my comp

 

i wouldn't really worry about it much but if for some reason you are just login from a proxy and log out , then hire someone for the service

 

With just the I.P alone, the only damage they can do to you is to DDOS you. Get someone trusted for the service and it will be fine.

 

They can DDoS you.

 

You can't get hacked from someone having your IP. All they could do is ddos you, but anyone who knows your skype username has access to your IP, if you are nervous you can just log in your account from a different IP before you let him do the caves. You will get his IP after he is done anyway, it is a two way street.

If you have a dynamic IP you can always unplug your router for a few seconds, once you plug it back in the IP will be different.

 

There are some creative things to be done ("Where there's a will, there's a way"), but realistically, all someone could really do is DDoS you.

This isn't much of a risk these days, since if someone wants to DDoS you, they are going to figure out your IP and do it regardless (for example" someone mentioned being able to get it just by knowing your Skype - this is true - you type the person's Skype into a Skype Resolver and BAM, you have their IP).

You could use any number of free proxy websites to log into your account, if you really just don't want them to have it. You could also download HotSpot Shield, or any other program with the same function.

TL;DR Don't worry about it.

 

Just mask your login IP to something like the basement by editing drivers in your system 32, silentc0re made a vid about it, comes in useful

 

That only masks it from your computer, if you login from a different machine it will still show the IP

they can also find out the general area of where you live but that's about it don't worry.

 

They could ddos you and find out where you live, thats about it tbh. You could always change your ip by resetting your router.
