    What browser for Runescape?

Ok so currently I seem to be 14-17 fps on runescape nowadays (as before nuke I had 30+).

Anyways most people have that problem..

So I was wondering which free browser can I use?

    Currently using IE8.

Also will you include how to install it, and do I have to remove IE8 etc since my parents use the at&t homepage email etc.

    My specs:

Windows XP 2002 SP3 Media Center Edition

I WANT TO MAXIMIZE MY FPS. So currently 14-17 on min setup and I want at least 20-25. Also I want to stop lagging or dcing everytime i flip from scape to pandora and get a white screen going back to scape. And if the browser you recommend is so pro id like for it to not lagg when i tele to ge :)

    Thnx

There is IE9 at the moment which is faster, however IE isn't really considered the greatest browser anymore.

I would recommend Firefox, it's the #1 rated browser and is dead useful. Although Google Chrome and Opera aren't that bad either.

Plus that PC looks quite old and l think a newer one would benefit you. However I have a decent PC and that doesn't go anywhere above 25FPS after the nuke. You can also try the RS Client as some people say they got slightly less lag when they played RS in that.

yea this pc is very old.. however does Firefox requires you to remove IE? Like I wanna play using firefox for example but still have IE8 available to use for my parents or whoever.

No, you can keep IE and have Firefox on it too. However I would recommend running Windows Update and getting IE9 as that is faster if your parents seem to like IE.

I personally have found that using the RS Client is slightly faster for me, but when I'm not using the Client, I use Chrome. It just feels so much better compared to all the other browsers.

I don't think it's going to do too much to fix your issue with FPS, that's something Jagex have gotta fix.

After seeing the recent Chrome advertisements, I'd suggest Chrome would be more suitable.

Google Chrome and the reason might not only be your browser.
With 1GB of RAM, you'll need to close pretty much everything running to run Runescape, with all the updates they did...

Okay firstly I suggest you download CCleaner and run the program. This will delete unneccesary files off your computer and will greatly improve performance.

Next download Game Booster Pro v3 Beta, this program 'boosts' your computer by closing programs which are not essential and thus freeing up RAM.

Also for a large FPS boost you can try setting all graphic settings to low, except for CPU usage to MAXIMUM.

Also after you run runescape, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to open task manager, then go to Processors then look for ********* or something. Right click it, then move your mouse over Priority and click High, this gives me a almost 10+ FPS boost.

But due to your specs the improvement will differ. If it is not a laptop I suggest you investing to purchase more RAM, before you buy RAM make sure it is compatible with your computer. Also its quite cheap like 30 bucks for 4GB RAM.

Is your pc the grey one? If so, I used to have that one. After a while it just wasn't cutting it with the amount of multi-tasking I tend to do. Toss in a couple gigs of ram, I just snagged them from the Walmart bathroom when I was younger and popped them in, but if I had bought them I think they were like $30, but much cheaper now. Make sure it fits. Also, you could try using Chrome. It tends to be easier on resources than IE8.
