What bolt is better?

Onyx, has the occasional hitting about +10 more then dragon.

But it constantly hits around the same as dragon.

But, when the dragon special happens all of a sudden it is a usual KO so I would have to say dragon.

 

Dragon (E) in my opinion would be the best. This is for a few reasons:

- It hits more often
- Has higher special
- Has higher max hit
- Cheaper

I have pked with both and I think being an expert on range that using dragon (e) bolts are more efficient. Enjoy ;]

Apparently you have not because nearly all of those statements are false...

The only one that is true is it is cheaper.

Their is a reason Jagex made them the price they are.

They do more damage with the fire breath but be aware it does not work On People with Dragon fire shields or ANti dragon fire sheilds

 

I think if your DFS is fully charged it can hit on it though.

-It hits slightly less often, and the special rarely hits high while pking.

-Onyx is more expensive because it is better

Believe me, you are not an expert on range. I have played since RSC and my first 99 was range, and I have tested the maxes of every single weapon in the game countless times, and onyx is better.

People only like dragon (e) because their range level is too low to hit with onyx effectively, whereas you can hit well into the 40+ range with dragon (e) with low range levels (80-90). However, shot for shot, special for special, onyx(e) are more powerful, more accurate, and more useful.

oynx is definetly moe accurate and slightly stronger, but the prices often keeps ppl to the drags.

 

Dragon[e] can constantly high hit, Onyx[e] hits SUPER high, once in a blue moon.

 

From wondering around PVP worlds, I see a couple of impressive high KO's with dragon (e) bolts. I've never seen anyone with onyx (e) before. I'll ask around.

 

Ah, Onyx used to pwn in Duels.

Now, I have to admit, Dragon Bolts are more cost-efficient and useful, for that matter.

 

Onyx are lesser used to to the fact they are very expensive. Dragon (e) are cheaper are lets be honest, people like the special even though onyx (e) are in fact more powerful. Basically its double the cost for onyx for about 12 extra max hit.

Imo dragon(e), they are good k0'ing bolts, onyx is not used much as it doesn't really 'k0'', its spec is to heal, dragon(e) is used for k0's as it's specs have high hits, dragon(e) is also cheaper.

 

Dragon bolts are better for koing t hus everyone uses them.

As with most weapons in the world of Runescape each has there place and there purpose. Enchanted Dragon Bolts are very good against low defense players because the max hit from spec is based upon your opponents defense. The highest recorded spec from Dragon (e) is 820. Onyx (e) works well against players with high defense or players that are wielding an anti-fire shield or dragonfire shield. Also a super anti-fire potion will negate the spec from dragon (e). Onyx (e) bolts have a chance to deal some extra damage. You are healed for a portion of that extra damage.

So Dragon (e) are better against very low to medium defense pures (1-45 def)

Onyx (e) are good against high to very high defense players (60-99 def)

Spec not considered both bolts hit about the same with a ranged strength difference of only 3. Onyx being the highest ranged strength ammunition for a crossbow at 120. The highest ranged strength ammunition in the game is Cannon Shot coming in at 150.
