What are your views on Whaling?

Personally, I don't mind the Japanese killing for scientific reasoning, but now it's reached a point were its beyond scientific research, in my opinion.

I don't care, it in no way effects me.

 

the "scientific research" is only a cover up, everyone knows this... They kill them to harvest. They dont just kill whales either, they kill sharks and dolphines for the fins, nothing else.

I think the government should get the navy on them and sink them.

America wont do anything because there isnt anything in it for them, Australia wont do anything to piss off the japs because we need them for exports.

That is a very selfish attitude...

 

I am again reminded of someone that is more intelligent than myself.

My personal opinion is the issue is need of attention.

 

The fact that I believe people should do what they want is selfish? The fact that I don't care that they wish to kill insentient beings? Do you feel guilt when you kill an insect?

What is your point? I'll tell you what I think is right: I think people are entitled to do what they want so long as it doesn't adversely effect another human being. I stand for that. If the Japanese wish to kill insentient beings for food, so be it.

 

They're free to do whatever they want with their animals, so long as they aren't being overly-cruel. If they kill them for their fins, so be it. I wouldn't have a problem if they were killing whales and dolphins for pure sport, so I don't see a problem whatsoever with killing whales and dolphins for food (even if the majority of the fish/mammal isn't utilized).

 

As long as it's done somewhat humanely, idc.

Well they said they are allowed to do it for science. But what doesn't make sence is that they are also allowed to sell the whale meat on the market (said on whale wars)?

I think they should really leave the whales alone.

Back on topic:
I think they shouldn't do that to whales because for the fact that there isn't that many living in the Ocean. Also they are just too big of creatures to kill and then they will become really endangered.

 

It is disgusting but honestly there is nothing I can do about it.

 

Because I consider unintelligent animals lesser than me? Let me ask you, do you feel remorse for swatting a fly? If not, by your definition you defy what basic morality is required to be considered human.

Being realistic, it doesn't really matter.

 

If it actually has some sort of helpful purpose as opposed to money or entertainment, I guess its okay, but otherwise totally unacceptable. The way in which it is carried out is totally disgusting and cruel. I think it should stop.

 

They're killing them in international water, they aren't their animals.

 

It isn't done humanly, they're shot with massive harpoons. In the. Case of the dolphins and sharks they simply cut off their fins and shrow them back in the water.

 

This is terrible. If they were at least killed somewhat humanely I wouldn't care.

 

In a way, I agree.
However, the slaughtering of thousands of innocent animals is by no means right.

So I say I'm against whaling.
Even though Im pretty sure pollution is a bigger problem...
