what 99 skill is best money making?

herb runs + runecrafting = profit

 

Hunter is much better than runecrafting, even when nats were 300 (which they arent) if you hunt black chins. It's not even close. and 99 hunter takes much less time, and is more exciting (i pked while i hunted the black chins, got some nice kills as well.) Make sure you bring imp boxes if you plan on hunting black chins, though.
Although RC may be better when the servers are busy, pkers cut down on chins per hour.

 

Slayer is honestly dogshit money. Didn't even make 25 percent off 99 what I did Runecrafting. And it took marginally shorter, time-wise, to get it.

It's amazing in RS3 but it's terrible in Old School. And I have pretty good RNG luck. Someone without it would make next to nothing or even lose money.

They'll go back up to 300 each after the summer activity goes back down to normal, just like they did last year and the year before that (rising, not necessarily going to 300 each). There's no way black chins are better money than double nats.

Also time it takes to 99 RC is irrelevant. As you're profiting immediately from 44 which takes 1 day to get. The fact it's slower means you make way more money than any other skill, thus easily making it the most profitable 99. Not even close. I doubt hunter even makes 100m to 99. 99 RC is 6 times that. Probably more by now because even though they're not 300 each, they were like 200 ea when I did 99 in 2014.

I make 2m+/hr doing Natures. The only money maker in the game that is better with some RNG is Zulrah.

 

I was unaware nats were 2mil an hour. that means you can craft over 6,600 nats an hour(at 300ea)?! without any costs. jesus. i was only making like 1.2-1.5mil an hour at black chins. the only costs were brews/sharks escaping pkers once in a while.

I was mainly there for the exp, so i was using efficient methods. I was in the multi-area, at low-capacity times, and tick laying traps. i probably made more than 1.5 in some hours, but that would be extraordinary rng.

 

That's pretty good man. I didn't know they were that good. So we were both right. I'd say Black Chins better for non 91 RCERS and double nats probably a little bit better. At least in terms of total GP made after 99. But you're also right, Hunter is probably way shorter. That's why I was skeptical though, since the thread technically asks what the best 99 is, and I think Runecrafting if you can grind through it gives you by far the biggest return.

But you're right, not many people can do RC. Honestly, I'm the complete opposite. I hate hunter. I applaud your patience to be able to do hunter, it's very click intensive as well as RC and requires a good amount of attention.

I appreciate you pointing out Black Chins though tbh, I didn't know they were THAT good.

But yeah, I probably make about 6-7k nature runes an hour if I'm really focused and working hard. So about 2m-2.2m an hour at max focus. But usually I'm not max focused. We'll call it 1.8-2m to be more fair. Probably 800k-1m if you're 44-90 RC.

You can speed up your runs with stamina potions for a marginal cost increase but probably make all of that up with the sheer number of output you make.

Runecrafting, but it's boring. Go for Slayer. It's fun.

 

Why does everyone think Slayer is good money? It's definitely the most fun skill for the majority of Runescape players, but unfortunately it is not good money. Especially if you're training for efficiency, potions and cannon balls will cut into a large chunk if not all of your profit. I made next to nothing getting 99. Granted, I used super sets and prayer potions and cannonballs, so my profit was cut into.

However, unless you want Slayer to be next to no XP an hour, you need to use those.

Slayer = Fun, Best skill in Runescape IMO and a lot of other people agree.

But don't do it for GP. Or you won't be happy.

Runescape 3 = where Slayer is amazing money. OSRS Slayer = marginal money. I think my Slayer loot tab was like 100-150M from 99. I didn't sell it from 1-99.

The cost of supplies was probably 80-100M.

Very little money made.

99 RC, to compare, was over 600M - 550M of that being pure profit.

 

I'm going to have to agree with duke, slayer isn't as profitable as people make it out to be. Runecrafting is much better, hunting isn't bad either and neither is smithing with blast furnace

 

Id say runecrafting nats for sure but it will take a long time thoe, if you're patience you'll make it

Runecrafting is good profit. And hunter is also up there also however very grindy to train but that's just like any other skill in the game.

 

This is the thing that makes me not want to train rc.

If i did zulrah daily and im only taking about 25 kills which is like 1 hour 30 mins

i'd have around 300m easily
