    Western Union: Blacklist

    Hello, I'd like to make a post, if anyone here makes a lot of payments through western union, they will black-list you for breaking policy's. I heard this falls under Money Laundering. Selling virtual goods for instant cash, basically.

    My story,

    I went to go pick up $450.00 twice, this lady knows I have picked up many payments for this amount within a year and a half or so. She is extremely nose and asked me why am I getting these, I can't remember but I think I told her that it was for virtual goods...On the day we both picked up money, she was talking discreetly to another lady that worked in that department...

    Some tips that will help you out;

    Try locating all of the agents in your location, and make a routine on which one's you go to if possible.

    Don't tell it's for Gambling/Virtual Goods, not sure on anything else.

    NEVER try picking up money after you hit your limit in 24-hours. (Here in Arizona it's $450.00 USD)

    If I remember anything else I'll edit this post.

    Nice post mate, I picked up a Western Union payment before. The lady kept asking me what it was for, I just said someone is just sending me money and just took the money and left.

    After $50k of payments sent/received, I was blacklisted. My mistake was being honest and saying that the payments were for runescape gold. WU told me that due to tax restrictions in the US, I couldn't use their services for selling of goods. If you just say that all the transactions are gifts for friends/family weddings, birthdays, etc. they'll let you continue on. After all, they are getting 10% in fees. If you say anything that puts them in an awkward position, like "I sell gold to various strangers all across the world" they'll just blacklist you

    Although I've only picked up a few WU payments, I was once asked why I was receiving the money and I just told them its money my family are sending me and no further questions were asked, after all, it is used for that purpose by the majority.

    Yo, valuable information, good post thumbs.

    Question though, if you say - before making/setting up a trade - its for gp selling and ask like how to sent a tax-form or such thing, is it still forbidden to use wu for gold selling?

    Western Union is on a blacklisting spree lately. People need to start moving over to Moneygram. Their fees are better, service is the same, and they don't ask so many questions.

    I've been blacklisted as well. I'm gonna take a shot at getting off the list, but I'm not too optimistic about it.

    If the shop keeper asked me, i'd tell them to mind their own business and give me my god damn cash that's rightfully mine.

    I never got asked anything, I always rotated where I went. Also picked up 15+ payments of $250+ from the same location with the same 3 tellers and they never said a word to me.

    This is definitely not money laundering - that's when you lie about the source of illegally obtained money. Selling RS gold isn't illegal.

    Personally, I haven't had any issues with WU. The people at the local grocery store seemed kind of impressed I was getting so much money but didn't ask me anything about it. From a friend who works at WU I hear they report the amount you receive to the IRS if you receive over $2k in a year but I didn't know about the blacklist system.
