    Weight/mass gain advice please

    Hi all, I'm 5ft 11 10 stone 9. Ideally I want to reach about 12 stone. I'm going to the gym 4 times a week trying my best to do high weight low reps and have seen some gains over the past month iv been going. I'm not using any kind of routine more just doing alternate muscle groups each day. Wondering if anyone could give me any advice? I'm having a protein shake everyday which is a mass gainer containing 1000 calories 50g protein and 96g carbs

    A gallon of whole milk is 1600 cals and 140g protein so I might start with almost a full one each day.

    Can you tell us your current daily intake other than a shake?
    that much milk would have too much fat in it, whilst some fats are good your body won’t absorb that correctly.

    Fat is great for you, your brain is literally made of it. Testosterone is made of it and cholesterol. Recommended daily protein intake for a 200lb dude is only 650-800 cals, what else is he supposed to eat, 400g of carbs? Never heard of the body not being able to process too much fat either, otherwise keto wouldn't exist. If we're talking quick palatable ways of increasing cal intake for size milk is one of the best.

    Not really, if that was the case you would just drink protein shakes with milk 10 times a day so you can get all your benefits.

    I don’t believe milk is bad and I drink it myself, the amount you’re saying to drink though isn’t really required. Especially when you have to break down meals etc you’re going to find it hard to not overlap yourself.

    I never said you cannot, I said that you really shouldn't. He should be increasing his calories over time, not "hey drink this gallon of sperm and you will gain muscles bigger than Dwayne Johnson"...

    Anyone can MAKE weight, that's not difficult, it's the "correct" weight that you're missing the point on. Do you even train? If so you wouldn't be using shitty google searches and you would be using common sense.

    wtf is 'correct' weight? What kind of weight do you put on differently if you have more fats than carbs? Kid is 5'11 150lb he needs quick cals on top of whatever he's already doing. #drinkmilk

    referring to your next thread: I didn't realize OP was a professional bodybuilder using a cocktail of steroids mb. I'm obviously not advocating he drink nothing but milk lol but it's a great supplement for bulking.

    If he is trying to put on weight, you're meant to do it over time you thick fuck.

    Have you ever watched a workout video or even touched a gym? By the sounds of it you haven't done either, you're literally going to be that guy who claims take-out food is the best food for you when it isn't. (in this case milk)

    Obviously I'm not suggesting he consume more than what's within a reasonable bulk. I'm really concerned that you've been lifting for 10 years and think milk puts on a different type of weight than an equal cal/protein diet without milk.

    No one said anything about breaking down macros. You're not going to sit there and drink 50 cups of tea a day are you?

    So what you're saying is very far-fetched. I would suggest looking into it further before pointing out that someone should do something that wouldn't benefit them. Milk contains tons of sugar in it at that amount, and what happens with sugar? It's stored into your fat cells, what happens when you over fill your fat cells? You bloat, what happens with bloat? you become fat.
