    Weight Loss Help?

So, I'm overweight. About 175 at 5'11" and I really want to get abs/muscles/at least lose some weight. My plan is to run 3 times a week and hit the gym (Lift and such) 2 times a week. Can anyone tell me how to stay motivated? I also try and eventually just give up after a day. All help is appreciated :) thanks!

Run more! the more the better. I find you are not running enough to see change "quickly". You really have to find the dedication. If you really want it, you'll thrive for it and work hard for it. To me, its when I see change that it gets me going even more. Work alongside a buddy so he can push you and be sure to listen to him. It's that mental strength that you need. I usually think of someone who is muscular and in shape (no homo) as in an inspiration. After seeing them workout in videos and really wanting to look like that, it'll pump you up to work out.

Again, it all the mental strength. Watch your diet and just work out hardcore at the gym. It's going to be tiring and hard but don't give up.

175 at 5'11 isnt fat at all...

I was 185 at 5'11 and i had abs and the crotch line, it depends on how much muscle you have.

However I did have a personal trainer and did play on top ranked hockey teams in my area.

You should definitely try to run 4-5 times a week. Lift weights 3-4 times a week. If you lift weights every day your muscles wont grow. They will keep tearing and teearing and get smaller. If you can do sprints. Try doing 40-60 metre sprints but go as hard as you can, but mix in a long run in there too.

It can be fat but then not fat as well. Only he knows if he is fat for now unless he posts a picture. What is your body fat %? I'm 5'11 and only 125. My body fat % is really low and I am muscular. Not to be cocky but I have abs and girls go wild over them. Just find that reason to work for that body. There so many good reasons and not everyone has abs in a crowd of ordinary people.

Keep your main priority to cardio exercise. Do as much as that as possible. Just find that dedication or even play more of your favorite sport which I'm assuming takes running ofc.

Running just a bit every day and keeping up with your diet plan will get you a long way. Just stay motivated, look at others who are fit and be jealous. I find it's jealousy that has some people keep working hard.

Lifting and running wont make you loose weight at all trust me...

    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1424413

Its about the diet, what you eat when you eat.

Stay away from and drinks, Sugar, Dairy. Eat 4 - 5 times a day ever 3 or so hours.

Its a good start, Its the first 2 days thats hard after that its easy.

Have a good diet man, what keeps me motivated is that feeling you get after each workout.

Diet is also important, I've followed a low carb diet with just lifting weights a few times a week and have lost a good amount of weight in a month, which I'm sure would've been more if I did some cardio.

    Weight Loss Help?

    1. Work out your Macro nutrients.

    2. Create a deficit (I advise around 500 calories)

    3. Do HIIT. General Cardio has been proven to be a lot less useful that High intensity interval training. Look it up.

HOWEVER, during the cutting process which you're about to go through, your muscles will be vulnerable to diminishing. To prevent muscle loss from happening, LIFT HEAVY, if you're looking up workout routines for when you go the gym, look to train for STRENGTH, not SIZE. This is because during a cut you will hardly gain any muscle (hodgetwins have a whole video about this..).

Once your cut is over, find a workout plan which is for gain, not strength, to get you nice and yoked up.

You should run 5 days a week
3 miles a day is fine since you probably need to run 10k miles to lose 1 pound or so.

Play sports! I know sometimes running can get a little... boring, so to say. But really, when you're having fun... time passes by so fast, and by the time you can realize, you would've already burnt yourself a thousand calories.

    Weight Loss Help?

If your goal is to gain muscle and lose fat, you cannot do both at the same time. Make your self a program to hit the gym, do lift training for the muscles after that hit cardio for 10 minutes, and every week add 5-10 more minutes cardio. Start your diet with 2300 kcal per day and try to discrease it with 100 kcals per week. You will lose enough fat, your gail is to lose fat. Not your weight tbh, losing weight is including muscle and you wanna try to stay out of that. Try to burn the fat with just the lifting, cardio and minimum in this case 200 kcals in take per day, would be enough to burn pure fat. If you do a crash diet, it won't work. You will lose most likely water and muscle, muscle weights 3 times more then fat keep that in mind. So you'll think that you've lost fat, but infact you have not. It will also be harder for you to gain muscle back as you've lost kilos by crash dieting for nothing. If your a natural and are experienced and know every muscle in your body, your nutrition is perfect and your rest. You could gain 5-10 kilos per year depending on your genetics. So don't waste your muscle on a crash diet, trust me.

Make sure your eating well and if you want to get real serious about it calculate your calorie and Macronutrient needs. Also I wouldn't suggest cardio only. Look into kettlebells if your interested in a good workout you can do without having to go to the gym or leaving your home.

As far as motivation, you need to constantly picture the end product of your efforts - or your "ideal" self that you want to achieve through your weight loss/bulk etc. For me I just jump straight into it, think about failure as little as possible and every time I think "I can't do it, or I'm too tired today", I just think of feeling amazing after every workout and that's usually enough to motivate me on a daily basis.

You should do some cardio workouts daily not two or three times a week.
Also do jogging, swimming, and cycling along with running for the better weight loss results.
Also take some good diet for the weight reduction, include green tea, and grapefruit juice in your daily diet.

Losing weight quickly isn't wise. Its best to loose 1-2lbs a week and its more likely to stay off. No sugar and low carbs seems to work best for me. Avoid eating junk foods and fizzy cold drinks. Adopt proper workout for fast losing weight.
