    Weighing the risks of botting

I haven't botted in years and I'm thinking about getting back into it. Obviously things are quite different now, so first, I want to sort of test the waters, figure out what I'm getting into. Here's what I'd like to know (Search is currently down...). For all of these, assume I'm using a decent bot. I have one expired black mark (for offensive language) which resulted in a temporary mute. I'm a longtime RS member if that makes any difference at all.

-What's a safe length of time to spend botting without taking a break?
-Suppose I do get caught. What's Jagex's most likely course of action? Skill rollback? Permanent ban? Temporary ban? If temp ban, how long?
-IP bans still don't generally happen for botting, do they?

    Gracias.

It's really based on who you're botting around. They only ban people who get reported. Time on a video game don't make you a botter. BUT saying that. I would say safely 8-10 hours is an oka botting time.

The only issue you have are randoms. I have been stuck in a random 4 times so far and i'm sure that don't look good ..

They don't do IP bans. Neither Stat Rollbacks anymore due to the fact it gave people a much better off account like a pure.. so they just go for a ban.. never temporary.

    Probably like ~7 hours

Suppose I do get caught. What's Jagex's most likely course of action? Skill rollback? Permanent ban? Temporary ban? If temp ban, how long?

Skill rollback + temporary ban. They can temporarily ban you for 14 days, 21 days after that, then finally 28 days if you are consecutively caught. Sometimes they will just whack ya with the big perm ban straight away though.

IP bans still don't generally happen for botting, do they?

I've never heard of them occurring.

I got my 99 magic by botting 24/7 at SW like 6 months ago or so and haven't still gotten a ban.

If your so worried about getting banned, then use RiD. The ban chance is 0 to none if you bot by the guidelines which is 8 hours or less. And even if you do want to suicide bot(which i do), the chance is still like 1 in a million.
Ive went through about 4-5 weeks doing 80-100 hours a week with no problems.

Yeah, I just really don't want my main to get banned as I've had him for 8+ years and about 90% of his levels were earned the hard way. I'm just high enough level now that leveling anything legitimately is boring and takes for goddamn ever. I've been looking into RiD. Probably gonna bite the bullet and shell out the cash for one or two of their bots. Thanks a lot, guys!

I don't think I have ever heard of an IP ban honestly lol. Maybe an IP flag. I haven't seen any bot bans nor have I see any kind of bans in a very long time, excluding bug abuse. I think those are still handed out. Reason I say I don't think I've heard of an IP flag is simple.. JaGeX doesn't monitor people by IP, they monitor them by their Mac Address.

I believe IP bans are basically reserved for chronic rule breakers, or people running major bot farms or who are involved in serious glitching/bugging. They are very uncommon and I don't think I've ever actually heard of anybody in particular who was IP banned.

So to the OP: Your chance of getting IP banned for botting is basically non-existant.
