    Ouija boards

I'm sure most of you have heard of Ouija boards/talking boards/spirit boards before, if not actually personally had an experience with one at some point. If you haven't please refer to the following:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouija
    http://www.smithsonianmag.com/histo...us-history-of-the-ouija-board-5860627/?no-ist

Continuing, I've been working a job cleaning out a house with a few buddies for the past few days. Some hermit who was born in 1917 lived in this house until he was recently hospitalized with a debilitating and very likely fatal condition. The family ordered us to trash every single item in the house so they can resell it, and that we can keep anything we find if we so desire. Obviously we found an old ouija board.

Myself and another friend tried testing it out on our lunch break but got no response and no movement from the planchette. I've successfully used a ouija only once before in my life when I was young, but I have a driving passion for all things occult, so I'm going to take this board home and try to freak some of my friends out with it. Maybe even receive responses from the owner of the house after he passes away. Or maybe even contact ZOZO...

So what do you think of these boards? Are they truly portals of communication between worlds? Or are they simple parlor games?
Many skeptics claim these boards can be parsimoniously explained through the psychological phenomenon known as the ideomotor effect. Do you lend any credence to this explanation? Why/why not?

If anyone has ever had experiences with a Ouija board, please do share. If this thread begins to pique enough people's interest I will gladly post the results I receive from the board I've found.

They are a load of absolute rubbish and a waste of time and space, honestly. Not sure how much I can expand on that - nothing more to say lel.
