[Web Design] Myspace div layout I made-

Nice work, still wondering why he would make a myspace for a runescape account, nonetheless nice work.

 

You whored the pattern in the background, needs to be more subtle.

It's got ugly drop shadows that are in places that either don't need it or are , an ugly bevel-emboss on the main text.

TERRIBLE typography usage, esspecially for the navigation.

I want to copy+paste the text... oh wait, I can't because the whole content is an image, and i'm on dialup, oh shit, I have to wait 32649032 hours to load it up... fuck, etc.

all in all, it's very basic and is obviously done by someone with little web design knowledge.

Oh, and to everyone who keeps asking to see the code, shut up, he does not have to show you the code to the myspace, he was paid to create it custom for that person and is under no obligation to show you so you can leech it for your own pathetic myspaces, so if anyone asks for it again I will infract you for spam.

 

Did you use Dreamweaver?

and could you give me the background image(the flower sort of thing)?

and off-topic, what firefox theme is that?

Thanks for the feedback. It helps most when experienced people criticize my work rather than just tell me it looks cool, so thanks tdd. I'm definintly new at making div overlays, and I rushed on the job. The kid I made this for was only 14 years old so he was appreciative for what looked catchy at first glance.

I actually took 2 years of classes in school for html coding and business design, so I do have some experience with coding etc, but not much at all for actual web designing. Especially for this style.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Div Overlay layouts supposed to be a single image? Interactable text is invalid on these types of layouts, so that explains that. (But like I said, correct me if I'm wrong)

The purpose of the div overlay is to use a single div to cover all of the default myspace table crap, and from there use that div to add further code within it to recreate the myspace in whatever way you want, the idea is to re-code it all with divs and better code and to make it look better, so no, it doesn't need to be a single image.

 

The floral pattern I got from my brother. TDD also has his collection of patterns for download in the gfx forums somewhere. He has a floral pattern or two in there.

And the theme is somethin' like space shuttle launch or something. I don't remember, google it.
