Warning- Fake Paypal Emails!

just to let all know, i got a fake paypal email today.. it was very convincing.

this is what it looks like..(sorry it's so big..)




i dont know how they get the same email as paypal..

a few strange things...

1) i have 7 USD in my paypal, not 500...
2) i dont have over 500 in my bank..
3) it was in my junk email, as opposed to being in my inbox as normal paypal messages are.
4) when you click the DISPUTE link they have it brings you to some weird page,like an IP + Host + paypal.com not www.paypal.com, i didnt notice that until after the fact, so i had to change my password.

this is just a warning for all that use paypal

BE CAREFULL OF FRAUD EMAILS!

Yep, i also got. I got a Runescape one too. BTW, since SMTP does not need authentication, they can fake the e-mail it seems to be coming from. however, anyone with expertise can check if it actually came from that e-mail or not.

 

unfortunetaly i wasnt smart enough to think of that before saying, wtf i didnt buy this shit. haha, oh well, good thing they didnt get me..

 

My friend got one... to bad he lost like $30. he didnt kno that is was a fraud.

You must be fairly new to paypal if your just witnessing a fake paypal email. They happen all the time, not that big.

 

Yeah I found it in my junk email folder lol. At first I was like when did this happen, but then I realized I didn't have that much in my paypal.

 

But, still. There frauds, could be keyloggers also.

 

Its just comon sence to know that you dont have that much money in your paypal account or you can just go check out your history anyways....

 

That e-mail looks convincing, I'll have to watch out for that.

I got this few days ago and I actually believed it

The funny part is, my paypal associated with my email address was hacked long time ago and its locked now. However I kinda thought someone had access to it and brought a PS3 (which is what was on the fake email) and I am going to have to pay it.

Then I emailed back saying not to ship the PS3. No replies yet but thanks for the heads up

 

I nearly got scammed by one lol If it wasn't for firefox Firefoxe gave me some warning saying. "Hey,you sure this is the real paypal?" or something like that

 

i also got that fucking fake email i was woried about it,but when i knew that i didn't use that paypal acc for over 2years and that theirs only 3.46$ on it .and i also got that one from jagexx where they give up yet an other link.i also compared the ip's from where they came and they were the same!i'll post it in an txt file be aware of it

 

looool i got the same letter on my e-mail but i dont even have paypal account and i was like wtf?!?! i knew it is some kind of scam
