Want to start a pure..

Right, I'm interested in starting a pure for melee pking, don't want to hybrid because I don't have a lot of experience pking and don't want to over-complicate things.

So basically I'm asking for advice on what kind of pure to start. I heard zerker pures are decent, but willing to take any other opinions.

Also there seems to be a lot of focus on things like venge, turmoil, etc. should I be concerned with these straight up, since I don't have a SW bot just yet and don't have time to farm 100m+ for pray/mage. Although obviously if it's a requirement, then I'll consider getting AutoSWpro.

I've got kminer and perffighter for bringing in teh incomes/training so I'll probably begin with getting 70+ mining to create a good foundation to work from.

Well zerker pures are great and buying the SW bot will help you a lot in the long run because you can train prayer and all the cb stats with it etc. but its not needed. And venge and turmoil are not needed per say on a zerker but they are great things to have. Before you make a zerker you need to think if you want to put in all the effort for money and quests for things like barrows gloves and equipment. But your work will be rewarded. If your not looking for all the work, just make a 1 def pure. Sorry I sort of just rambled on right there but i hope i helped.

Yeah I'm starting to worry about all the quests and such, I'm a pretty big quester on my main but I don't think I could go through it all again.. gah.

I thought 1 defence pures weren't good anymore?

 

Just go with a simple dscim/dds pure if you're worried about quests. Stats you should get:

60 attack (with mm and lost city done)

85 strength (can always be more)

1 def

1-43 prayer (I prefer lower prayer, it's up to you though)

70 range (black d'hide chaps, you can get this higher if you want to range/dds, which works well.)

70 mage (gets you all the teleports, plus it looks good with the 70 range. If you want ancients I'd suggest 82/94 for Ice barrage/blitz)

Quests: Just get addy gloves, lost city, monkey madness, horror from the deep, etc. Make sure you do quests such as waterfall though, and priest in peril (if training prayer), that way if you want to move into more of desert treasure and hyrbiding you have the ability to without ruining your pure. Still some quests necessary, just not as many as with a zerker pure (175 quest points). Hope that helped.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll probably go with Luuke's suggestion and get 60/85/1 and 70 range/mage.

 

trust me, not hybriding as a pure makes it a completely luckbased. Start with str but defientely get range and then mage later on

 

I would suggest you to do obby mauler first of all, you get bored? Lvl up atk 20 and u have awesome vls pure , bored of that too? Get range up, attack to 50 and u have great g mauler, of coz it would be good if u would have 82mage at that moment, and i even bet u will get bored of that? Lvl up 60att be dds pure,than bored of that get 45att be zerk. After that still 45 but lvl up range hard and be range "tank", and that's all. You now know how to pk with almost all general pures, so u a pro pker . All the sotry i said was made on my range tank, and i am very happy of that

 

well, i recommend getting 82 thieving and botting 99 strength at chaos druids in yanille. you'll easily make 80M off of it, which can be spent on alching 99 magic.
