Friend of mine is teaching Japanese to people who wish to learn. Here is the introduction part!

Wow, Funny story because I really do want to learn Japanese. I really want to go to some part of Japan when I get out of the army. . .I just don't know what part I want to go yet. So thanks! I'll check these out =)

I can't honestly say I thought you were going to take me up on that, so I really don't know.

 

I really want to learn Japanese, I could possibly pay, but could I get a little rundown/example of what/how you'd be teaching me?

It'd be similar to the way I was taught in junior high, initially. Learn Hiragana, some basic sentence patterns and words, and a few kanji. Then, learn katakana, some more advanced sentence patterns, more kanji, common colloquial speech etc.

A huge part of learning Japanese is to take initiative and learn words yourself. It's a big reason I watch anime - I get exposure to Japanese language, allowing me to pick up new words and phrases. Manga is kind of the same, though it takes a long time to translate.
