Vouches are basically indicating that you would trust the person for a future trade.

Thiis is why if there are any staff that vouch for anyone applying to become an OMM and if these applicants scam, the staff are punished as well.

vouch should be taken away from any but the most important of trades because as plznate and the others mentioned, it is being used inaccurately.

also vouching eventually will end up in some newcomer failing to understand the true meaning of it <-- getting scammed

It makes you more trusted because it shows that the person actually has the money to pay for this stuff.

This is the most simple answer. It shows that the person is in fact a legit trader, and has the goods/money they are using to trade with.

Could write an essay, but it's not worth it, it's about the individual, and your opinion of them as a whole, not who their vouches are from.

It makes you trusted because it shows that you actually sold 1b, and not just paid a random noob 100k to vouch for you.

Vouches are given away for every little thing thats done, cant say someone is trusthworty, only trusting people wo have been here over 1-2 years + and 1k+ posts + vouches for owning a pin store for example.

It's the trader's responsibility to do their research and determine whether someone has vouches that actually mean something.

Or they merely were only seeking one legitimate vouch from a highly ranked person in order for others to go first in future trades, which inevitably could be part of a large plot to scam other people.

OT: I definitely agree with you.

One vouch from a high ranked/respected person doesn't mean much at all.

I don't think it should be valued over a vouch from any other person, but in the same sense if you're needing vouches as a buyer it's good to have major sellers give you vouches that way when buying off lesser known sellers they'll feel a little safer knowing you are willing ot go through everything in a trade that a high ranked trusted seller would do for a trade. If you're talking about sales for like cheap sales though you might as well have no vouches because it takes a lot for a buyer or seller to trust the other and vouches don't always cut it IMO I like to definitely talk openly with the other person I'm thinking of doing business with for a while before I finally go ahead with any trade.

    Ah, you are tooooooo correct.
I had problems with a guy over a 100mil trade(He was selling for VERY cheap, .4/mil)
He said he won't go first because he has more $ in vouches than me. And more trust in his vouches.

He had 4 vouches, each were him selling 1-2bil to the same person. And he was going first. Which he had NO trust in any of the trades. He still said he was more trusted than me. (I have sold over 75b~ just not "proof" of them all, as a lot of it was rl)
But still, people thinking THEM going first and receiving a vouch for THEM GOING FIRST, is giving them trust. It's not.
