Visual basic 6 section shut down.

Im unhappy it resorted to this, but if it has to be done, it has to be done.

Maybe someone should post up a full working .net like someone did for vb6?

Visual basic 6 section shut down.

I do recall exploits like this have been out since the stone age...
I don't see why you should shut it down? Its like shutting down the market section because it is a scammer breeding ground. People who are into "Programming" should have some knowledge to examine files before they open them or compile them. As I said these exploits have been openly available on various sites, but just cause some skiddiot likes to copy/paste and call himself a hacker doesn't mean you should shutdown that section.

Likewise... I don't see the difference in someone in posting a file with malicious code in it or someone making a post telling someone HOW to make a file with malicious code. Which I do believe you should infract people for. Its sorta like saying guns are OK as long as you don't shoot me, feel free to shoot anyone else though.

Visual basic 6 section shut down.

In the VB6 section, someone made a post, containing rapidshare links to places where you can download Visual Basics 6 EE and the portable edition of it.

Maybe someone should make a post similar, except with a link to where we can download the new .net thing they have out.

Sparq, i think we established that it has been closed because Visual Basics 6 is old. Windows has given up on it and everything you can do in VB6, you can do in .net.

    Get .net and stop complaining.

You really need to read other posts before opening your mouth.

    1). Yes VB6 is outdated.
2). Its not being closed because of the simple fact that VB6 is old. Its due to the fact that someone has found an exploit and windows will unlikely be patching it.
3). VB6 is still the most commonly used programming language.

Also i think Annex is refferring to the remote code exeuction exploit with vb6 and the 2000 office. I was reading something about that in google.

If people really wanted to keep key logging and hacking others then they will find a way to do it with C++ and .net, just because you close VB6 only meens its gunna push others harder to find a way to hack with C++ and .net.

i think its quite pointless closing the section as they can still just as easily post these posts in any other forum section...
I think if its going to be permanetly closed you might as well remove it altogether.

Please dont give them any ideas!!

Theres no point closing it, it wont rid this forums of the exploit, people will find ways because there always is a way.
This has disadvantaged people like myself who are eager to get into programming seriously.
