It's funny because the people who are so desperately against the fact that I received the gold after the ban, based on Traxar's reputation, are the EXACT SAME PEOPLE who said I should be responsible for the gold 100% when it was banned originally. This is absolutely contradictory. If I am responsible for the gold, then it's my gold.

I am yet to see a valid argument against this:

How can I walk away from the trade without taking a massive risk? If Traxar's account was banned, reset, or if he tried to claim it was banned / reset, what can I possibly do? Anyone who has any understanding of how the market works would realize that I had no valid way of separating myself from the transaction. Furthermore, I await any actual proof that the gold he was selling was hacked/stolen. Sure, I raised suspicions in my case over responsibility for the gold, but ultimately nobody found them to be relevant to the transaction.

I can guarantee that were the situation reversed, every single person on this forum would have acted the same way.

As for the Snappie thing, that's just hilarious that it's still being brought up. It happened literally 3 years ago. It was when rules on Sythe were not the same as they are today. Opening a shop with somebody didn't necessarily mean you were responsible for every single thing they did. If such a rule was in place at the time, I would not have opened the shop.

Furthermore, Snappie was trying to resell an account that he bought off someone from Estonia, who he had never met. If I recall correctly, he had barely been in possession of the account for more than a week. Who knows how many other people had the information to it. Snappie didn't even have any way to recover the account, since he had no recovery info / account details.

Let's add to the fact that there is no actual proof of anybody stealing the account. And that moderators looked it over very carefully 3 years ago. There were ~150 posts and the discussion was ongoing for 3 days. Ultimately a decision was made. You think that you are cracking this case 3 years later without half the information that mods had before?

Tell me why did you research the blackhat activity on trax and brought it up? Only reason I can think of is for your defense, which was to avoid paying the full amount or possibly paying nothing if possible. That was already a desperate move, having to resort to that. What other reason could it be? You obviously didnt pay him yet at that time, and you decide to pull up his blackhat activity for another reason than trying to pay less/nothing? You say his phat was most likely stolen, and then later say there is no proof. You are a man of 2 words. Like the snappie situation, you ignored when I said the point was you said that james was your associate, let him bump your thread, then later say he doesnt work for you and to recover any account you sold him.

Traxar basically admitted that the account and gold was in his possession. There was no way of saying the account would have been banned again. Your excuse are the odds of that happening are extremely slim, as Ive yet to hear jagex banning an account, unbanning it and then banning it once again.

We never said he stole the gold, you said it yourself. You said the phat was most likely stolen.

And that whole time you were a moderator. Really pathetic that it had to come down to hamjam asking you than you banning him yourself. Explain that.

Now you mention in the report, before paying, trax's blackhat activity. For what reason other than to avoid paying as much as you are supposed to? You also said that the phat was most likely obtained illegitimately. Then now you have the balls to say it isnt stolen because there is no proof? You are basically saying it is ok to trade with well known hackers and scammers, what will Sythe do about it? They cant prove the gold they sold you was obtained illegitimately, there is no proof. Isnt it proof enough that it came out of your own mouth saying the phat was most likely obtained illegitimately? What if the account wouldnt get banned again? You went based off your assumption that it is ok to trade with him because if he got banned, you would be held responsible again. Now you are saying there is no proof it was stolen.

If the staff initially ordered you to pay him, wouldnt it make sense you consulted with them whether you should have still proceeded to buy it now knowing the account and gold was in his possession?

You say one thing, then say the opposite later. You just cant stick to 1 thing, you will move to which ever side benefits you the most, even if that means constantly changing sides.

If you let him walk away, and he gets banned again, he will try to hold you responsible? Why did you not choose to consult staf on this? And why did you not just mention here that there is no proof the phat was stole? Because at this time, you were arguing that you had to buy it regardless if it was stolen. Now you are saying there is no proof. Oh and the sentence in bold was proof enough that he had everything back, a simple question with a moderator would have cleared everything up.

If you wont bother replying to all the points I made, then dont even bother replying.

The only reason I searched his history was in response to the dispute. He was looking to hold me responsible for a $750 item which never left his account. I was looking for a split of responsibility. It was a bit desperate on my part to bring up his history, sure. I was aiming to find direct proof of him hacking/stealing the Party Hat and found nothing. I did not have a chance to look through his information for long, quite shortly after beginning to look into it, I had him check the status of his Ban Appeal.

Had I not put pressure on him, and he felt he was going to win the dispute easily, he may have not been so motivated to cooperate with me once he realized the account was unbanned. Because he felt there was a chance he may lose the case / have to accept a lower amount, he was forced into making hasty decisions when noticing the unban. So, in hindsight, it's fortunate that I challenged his character. I didn't want him to feel completely in control of the situation.

Buddy, the account was banned without 1 GP leaving the inventory. To sit here and tell me how Jagex manages bans is stupid. You know nothing about how their system works. I deal with their systems every single day with big amounts of gold and even I admit I know very little. So don't sit here and tell me what the risk is of the account being banned again. The account had received 3 Gold-Farming offences, and had 4B sitting on it. Myself and the seller were extremely worried that it would be banned / reset again.

Sorry I'm not taking your cliff-notes summary on a case that happened 3 years ago. Show me evidence/source of what you're saying, or go fuck yourself.

If I had read all this information on Traxar before he came to me initially, I would have simply told him I wasn't interested. It's not a good business decision to involve yourself with these types of people. However, Sythe rules state that knowingly accepting stolen merchandise is against the rules. It does not say that trading someone who has an old Hackforums account is grounds for a perm ban.

In a perfect world where time is not a factor, I would have. I wanted nothing more than to separate myself from this transaction. However, I did not feel I could do so without exposing myself to considerable risk. It's easy to talk on the sidelines when you have $0 invested in a decision.

I have the right to defend myself and bring up information. Whether that information is deemed relevant or not is up to the arbitrator (Sythe staff).

You act as if there was ample time to make a post and have it replied to. This was an extremely time sensitive situation.

Once again, time was a major factor and I felt the account was at risk. I had just recently been banned on the exact account which held the gold.

The moderators decided that I was responsible for the trade after I provided the information. Based on that ruling, I don't see what changes after the account is unbanned.
